Does anyone who got the Fold3/GWatch4 combo use either the Samsung Duo or Trio wireless charger for them?

Before I ordered my phone and got the watch as a bonus, I tried a display model GWatch4 with my existing charger for my Gear S3 Frontier. It showed it was charging, so all good. However now I have my own G Watch4, when I tried it on the S3 charger and discovered it starts charging and then about 20 seconds later the watch decides the charger isn’t compatible. When I look at the sticker on each charger I note the old one is 0.7A and the new one is 1.0A, so that would explain why the GWatch4 doesn’t like the older charger. Kind of painful because I have an S3 charger I take on the road without having to pack up the home charger each time.

There doesn’t seem to be any of the puck style chargers that come with the GWatch4 available on the Samsung NZ website as an accessory (there is on the US site). So it seems that the Samsung Duo or Trio wireless chargers appear to be the only option as the watch doesn’t use Qi charging. Additionally the Samsung website doesn’t include either the Fold3 or Watch4 in the list of compatible devices for the Duo/Trio. I assume this is just because the specs haven’t been updated on the website and am waiting to hear back from Samsung. But I’m loathe to spend $100+ on a Samsung wireless Duo or Trio and discover it’s not compatible.

Do you have a case on your Fold3? And is the positioning of the Fold3 or GWatch4 finicky?

I have used the trio and duo with the official Samsung aramid shell and s-pen cover case. Both are fine. It also charges my wife's iPhone in her apple leather case. It also charges my S21 Ultra in the Pitaka mag shell fine. The watch charging is easy as the placement is indented so you have to sit it in there to start charging.

Whatever case you use should be fine.

Hey folks, have ended up with a little too many wireless chargers. Have a brand new Samsung wireless trio and a used wireless duo to sell if anyone's interested 😊
