Ended up biting the bullet, scored one from Amazon UK - got the Pixel Watch 2 Matte Black, didn't see the need to pay an extra 100 pounds for the Polished Silver case

This is my Google experience. About a year ago my Pixel 4XL died. I sent it to Auckland an the repairers said it has a mainboard failure and could not be repaired and sent it back to me.  It was out of warranty but I contacted Google and complained. I didn't tell them where I was. They said, give the phone was only about 6 months out of warranty they would repair it free. Then they asked if I wanted to take it into an authorised Pixel repair place or send it to Google.  I chose the latter option and they sent me a prepaid Fedex label.

As luck would have it I had a rel going to the US so I printed off the label, packaged the phone and he took it over and dropped it off a a Fedex drop box.

The phone was repaired and was sent back to a friend. I told him to leave it there since I might want to use it as a tradein for the P8. That is where I am now.

I guess great if you're in the States, not so great everywhere else?

Amazes me that nearly a decade into their release life, Pixel is still only officially sold in 4 countries. Absolutely braindead from Google.

It's more than for countries, more added this year.

My Pixel 8 has almost arrived at my friend's house in Australia.

It's actually in 20 countries IIRC. Not that that is really any better than four at this point. With their resources they should have been available practically world wide long before now.

They would probably need repair facilities in every country, which would probably be expensive time consuming to provide. You would have to sell a lot of phones in each country to have a repair facility in that country, and I read that Pixel phones have approximately 1% market share.

1% of the New Zealand market would make it difficult to pay for repair facilities.

I've pre-ordered a Pixel 8 with pixel buds on Amazon US delivery via YouShop.
My first time using youshop and the experience is terrible.

The phone is supposed to be delivered to the US address tomorrow while the pixel buds were delivered on Oct 5 (according to Amazon tracking).
I expect to see the pixel buds on my youshop portal now but still nothing.
Even the submit enquiry form for youshop enquiries is showing an error on submission.

Not sure what to do now and I don't think I'll be using this service again :(

Is it just me or have others had similar experiences with youshop?

Anyone got suggestions on Pixel 8 Pro cases? Was looking at the Spigen ones on Amazon AU, however given the number of fake Spigen cases being sold in other places and that they are also 3rd party sellers, I figured I might give those ones a miss.

Update: Upon further investigation, I think the PROgadgets ones might be legit though(mixed feedback from customers online about legitimacy), they say they represent Spigen in Aussie

I have ordered a P8 and watch 2 in black from Google Australia. Shipping them to a mates place who will either courier them over, or send them back with some family members in a month or so.

I expected the transaction to fail because I was paying with my nz credit card, but no issues there.

Only problem is, I put my name as the recipient, so now I have to give my mate permission to collect it from the post office on my behalf.

I've purchased from there, Spigen liquid air. It should arrive in a few days, give or take. I only got it from there as Amazon were out of stock, buying from the right seller on Amazon should be fine.

Obsidian, I'm not bold enough for Bay blue 😅
I also paid for expedited shipping to get it a bit quicker

Thanks so much mate, getting on a call was definitely the way to go.
I've got a case number now and they're following it up :)
