Also had a very quick squiz at HN, which had the grey on display (I think that'd be the case for all retailers since it's the hero colour), would have liked the other colour units on display too (even if they are dummy only like the S23U did).

Really like the matte and more squarish feel of the titanium frame, I don't mind the flat screen, I am ok with it either way. Would like to see more battery draining comparison videos, maybe against 15 Pro Max and other Chinese OEM flagships, but SD 8 Gen 3 plus the software tuning, this is unprecedented.

I believe there is a big software update mid next week. Let's see what changes that brings.

I think many reviews currently are still based on the preproduction software so take it with a.grain of salt.

So for those who are considering the HN gift card, I got a verbal conformation that you don't need to worry about the 2 month expiry on the gift cards, they can be 'renewed'. He said he had done at least 3 expired gift card renewals that day.

That is a massive increase in battery life between the S23U and the S24U.

Had another look in the flesh yesterday to show my wife and leaning towards the Ultra with the EPP discount. Wife is definitely getting it, upgrading from an S9 (but she's about to get a large lump sum from Allied Health pay equity settlement). I'm still debating the amount of money but if it should last me 5-6 years like the S10 did then its probably worth it.

Upgrading from the S9 and S10 will definitely be worth it considering OS and security updates may have ended for both devices, if not very close to.

At the moment here's my reasons for upgrading from the S23U:

much brugher screen
less screen reflections
flat screen
better battery
7 years OS and security updates

JB Hifi + 2deg combo looks like the best deal at the moment, if you go for the $80 pm plan and I think you can downgrade after 6 months

Have a look at Noel Leeming, my wife got a 6 month half price account along with 2 Samsung 6 watches one the top model classic plus a normal one and a Samsung charger. Along with discounts etc.

Harvey Norman is also a great offer, do the numbers first.

I totally forgot that my S10e samsung updates ended last year.... guess it is time to think about upgrading.
The newest model S series is out of my price range these days, I might go for an FE model or wait for the A55 model to come out later this year.

So, was going to order from HN but they can't apparently confirm if the second gift card will be given to me until release day, because they don't know how many have sold.

$400 isn't worth it on it's own.

after 3 years with apple iPhone 13/14/15 all pro max I've decided to head back to Samsung who I was with for 10 years
