NZtechfreak:wlfkfgkwlaktka: Hi,
Anyone on 2degrees having a problem with 3g network?
Once it loses 3g, it falls back to 2g then it never comes back to 3g (i.e. hangs on 2g no matter where you are) unless you turn airplane mode on and off.
Anyone having a similar problem? Not too sure if it's the bug in the OS or the handset problem.
I've had that on Vodafone, doesn't bother me to cycle airplane mode.

Must be the bug in the OS then.
It bothers me a lot because my work place has a low reception so it falls back to 2g network everytime I go to work and never catches 3g from then.
Hopefully, this will be solved in 4.2.2 otherwise I have no choice but to return it!

If you set it to 3G only does it not fix the problem?
Finch: I am no longer getting the vibration feedback when pressing the back or home button. I have checked and it is ticked in the sound options of the menu.
Hardware fault?
wlfkfgkwlaktka: It seems like retailers are no longer willing to exchange the device for gap issues.
When I bought the One a month ago, I found some gaps on the top, and demanded a new one on the spot which they happily provided.
But yesterday when my friend bought it from JB-Hifi, we asked for a new one, again due to gap issues, and they simply said they need to send it to HTC to verify whether it's a faulty one or not. They tried their usual BS as to how it is a part of the design.
Said it would take at least 2-3 weeks until they hear back from HTC.
We argued for a bit and at the end, got a refund (within 48 hour rule).
Needless to say, my mate went straight for GS4.
HTC really needs to improve their QA. It's been months since the launch, and their excuse for "first batch problems" doesn't work any more.

Have you got the battery saving mode on? If so, that could be the cause of the problem? Try switching off the battery saving mode off and see.

Technofreak: How does one stop apps from automatically updating. I have one app that the updated version isn't as good as the old version. I've uninstalled it only to have it reinstall automatically as an update. Most frustrating.
cathy88: Out of curiosity, is there anyway to identify if the HTC One is a XT or Vodafone variant (through IMEI, Serial Number, P/N or anything else)?

There is no difference between the XT or the Vodafone version in the HTC One's sold in NZ, they are exactly the same.

I wonder how Vodafone justify selling this for $100.00 extra.
Is this confirmed though, although I can see LTE option on my Telecom HTC One (Im with Vodafone carier), but I cant actually test if LTE truly works?
I guess I may know soon when Vodafone releases LTE in CHCH
