http://www.expansys.co.nz/htc-one-unlocked-32gb-black-246680/, but they are ~$1080 plus shipping.

I really want a black one!

I've considered a black one but if you got a scratch on it, it is more noticeable than a silver one.

I have maybe half a dozen tiny dings on the top of my phone (talking less than one square millimetre) and they are still noticeable, but yes, I can imagine the black one being worse.

Speaking of dings, case sucked up a pretty bad one the other night. Was getting out of my dads car (Toyota Prado), and I had it on my lap. Not thinking about it I jumped out and I could see my phone falling to the floor, probably from about one metre, to tar seal. Pretty good chip out of the bottom of the case, and only a little bump on the top where it bounced into the ground again.

*cringe*

Maybe you should invest in a helmet.

I jest but man whenever I hear stuff like that I remember why cases are so important for the drop prone. Friend of mine has dropped his iPhone out of a moving vehicle no less than three times... It's survival is completely reliant on the quality of cases he buys.

Then there's me with my naked phones and strict pockets only policy. If it breaks I'm probably disabled from the fall so it'd be the least of my worries hehe.

Remember when cameras were expensive as hell and you never operated one without the tie thing around your wrist? That could help a few people hang on to their phones perhaps ;)

I feel your pain... Upgrading from a Nokia 5800 to my first HTC a few years back was a scary experience.  No. More. Wrist. Strap. Surprised

Now days I use a case (and a death grip) from day 1.

Funny thing is, my iPhone was treated far worse. Had a post detailing all the horrible things it had experience quite a number of pages back in this thread, but the thing that finally shattered the screen was falling on it while it was in my pocket while skateboarding - and I wasnt wearing a helmet. After that is was treated like trash but lives to tell the tale. Replaced the glass and the home button (which was broken long before I fell on it) and gave it to my girlfriend. She loves it like a baby, and other than the rather scratched back glass (hadnt had a case on it for 18 or so months), it looks and works good as new.

Woo, got the phone (899) from Noel Leeming.

I opened it up in the car and it had some sort of glue-like substance on the corner, plus a nice noticeable gap.

Got a replacement straight away, which had a significant dent in the metal surround..

Replacement number 3 seems to be good!

HTC really need to work on their quality control.

Enough moaning though, this phone is INCREDIBLE. I've had iPhones, Desires, Galaxy S2/3, Sensation, One X... This thing pwns them all, hands down. Speakers are amazing, screen is amazing, camera is amazing, build is amazing... nuff said.

Pretty good price, probably the cheapest you can get the One for in NZ.

Should be able to score $899 - 20% over Queen's Birthday, which would make it a real bargain at $720.
