timmmay: Has anyone found a solution random freezing? For example I was just using facebook, it froze for 20 seconds or so, unresponsive to touch, front button, but responsive to the power button.

What keyboard are you using? Mrs had an issue with her S4 and facebook, but turned out to be the keyboard syncing data. uninstalled, reinstalled, turned off sync and it's fine now.

I'm using Swype. It is a bit problematic, sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds to pop up, sometimes it doesn't pop up at all. The keyboard icon in the menu bar appears so I switch keyboard. The thing is Swype is by far the best keyboard in terms of ease of use, swiftkey, google, samsung etc I tried 'em all. Maybe I need to suck it up and try another for a while to see what happens.

Exactly what my mrs is using.
Go into swype settings and turn off the sync.
Once she did that, all her problems went away.

I turned off sync, "living language", and everything else that looked like it might use the network. Thanks for the suggestion, if you don't hear from me again, it worked!

She did a reinstall and one sync before she turned it off... if just turning sync off doesn't work, try that.

I reinstalled recently to try to fix performance. It didn't. Hopefully sync off helps.

I changed to the Wanamlite ROM, which is stock less Knox and with a few performance tweaks. Even with sync turned off Swype seem to sync - "Backup and sync" is clearly off, but the last sync time is 10 hours ago. Hmmm.

Interestingly, wireless charging is much faster - instead of 600mah it goes at 1900mah, according to a charging current app. While the app may not be perfectly accurate I can tell it's heaps faster, just from experience.

The phone is slightly more stable than 4.2.2 stock, but not a lot - it still random reboots.

I have two weird behavours, both around Llama:
- Whenever it tries to go into airplane mode it says "Llama couldn't get root access in time, please check your super SU app". Thing is it does go into airplane mode, and SuperSU pro logging confirms this. Odd. Worked this out though, you do it via secure settings.
- The Llama tone picker doesn't work from the phone app. The only downside is I can't have my ringtone set based on my current location. Since I keep it the same in every location it's not a huge deal, but it means I can't set the volume. I've tried many ROM reinstalls, a Llama reinstall, but I got nothing.

Been using Shostock rom for a few months as was working well and saw no need but getting stir crazy so flashed Samy Delux , its got all the S5 stuff and new TW which I quite like and may leave for a while. Looks pretty good and will work with old bootloader so give it a try it works well

whole thing looks and feels very good, not sure if its the S5 ported or not but liking Touchwiz a lot. The keyboard is really good as well so is the new settings setup and a lot easier to use than previous. Has mirroring as well so keen to try that out to see how it works but looks more gimmicky than anything else.

Wanam is great I just wanted to try the S5 clone or whatever it is.

how do you flash samy delux rom on the old bootloader? you just flash the file rom the usual way or there is something you need to do? Just wanted to double check before I flash it. I am on shostock rom as well with the old bootloader

I'm using TWRP and they suggest Philz or latest CWM recovery but seems fine. I did a full wipe and flashed the earlier delux one (as per instruction) then flashed the latest Rom and its all good.

I've been on Echoe for some time now but that Sammy Delux looks good. I'm on the new bootloader, so straight Odin flash and done?

Also, my mate sent me some screen shots from his S4, which was bought from vodafone but has a Telecom sim.

His screenshots all show the LTE icon. What connection speed pushes it past 4G??
