Mangonz: Ah that seems to have done it - Downloading from PC Companion now. :D

Just installed PC Companion but mine says "You already have the latest software". Which country did you choose when installing PC Companion?

Where did you buy your phone? Telecom ones have been updating..
Mine is with Optus in Oz.

Bought mine from Clove UK. My carrier is 2 degrees NZ. So I can't get it now?

Mangonz: No update to 4.4 on my Z1 yet, I imagine it will take a while for it to roll out to NZ handsets.

It seems that carriers might have already approved it..
I got mine today in Oz, and 2 Kiwis I know on telecom got theirs today.
Use the PC companion and not the OTA checker.

Nice work, thanks for the update! I'll plug the wife's Z1 into PC Companion as soon as we get bubba to bed. I'm running KitKat on my Note II (CyanogenMod) and TF101 (Katkiss) and am very much enjoying it.

After playing with the Z1 for a while I'm extremely tempted to jump ship from Samsung - not large enough screens for my liking are holding me at bay at the moment though :-)

Don't see why it shouldn't be there unless the Uk are slower to roll it out than telecom (not likely). Your carrier won't be an issue... Mine is an optus phone, but I'm not on optus. They were the just first to sell it and I got it day of release.  Make sure you have the latest PC Companion and start it before you plug the phone in.

I'm pretty happy I gave my S4 to the Mrs. For me, the Z1 is a billion times better, even without a removable battery (that I said I'd never go without).

Removable battery has never been an issue for me. The Z1 is a beautiful machine, just not quite for me just yet. Wife's one is now purring along on 4.4.2 :-)

Removable battery used to be an issue for me, but since I got a portable battery charger, that has not been a problem ever since!

Hasn't been an issue with me since the Z1. lasts as long as the S4 that had an extended battery. And I leave everything on.

It's amazing the amount of posts in the S4 thread that mention turning off location services etc.
I run everything all the time.
