nah there was only 3 prizes they gave away there .2 gear2 watches and a vr headset. A bit disappointed with prizes could been a couple of phones given away was a launch after all....but finger food and drinks was good ....didn't even have the 360 camera on preview/display really wanted to see that in action.
only thing they had on special was buy a phone and get $150 off accessories.didnt think it was worth it .
no other information given about offers for general sale

Little old New Zealand dumped on once again haha. The worst part is that I've been following the S7 subreddit and they have all been going on about all these cool promos (even buy one get one free)!

Aside from the injustice of giveaways haha, I'm pretty excited to be getting mine tomorrow (provided shipping goes well)!

I asked at the Samsung event yesterday and they confirmed it is Exynos

My PB Tech account says my SGS7 is "awaiting courier pickup". So maybe I'll get it tomorrow morning.

Looks like we are getting the octa-core Exynos 8890 CPU and not the quad-core Snapdragon flavour.

One benchmark shows the Snapdragon as faster.

Benchmark comparison

These phones do a fair bit of multi-tasking. It may be that the Snapdragon can bake a cake faster, but the Exynos can bake more cakes.

I'm sure whatever one I have in my hand it will subjectively feel fast.

I received a txt message last night from Courierpost saying they had a package from Spark for me to be delivered next business day and to contact them if I want it sent to a different address. Should turn up today with any luck.

If you're into rooting and custom ROMS you'll want to pick up a Snapdragon model

Yes, the Exynos is the weaker chipset sadly...

"Samsung’s decision to utilize two different processors on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge might prove to be a disaster. Recent benchmark tests show Exynos versions underperforming the Snapdragon counterparts in a major way.

The Exynos 8890 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 are very close when it comes to the central processing unit (CPU). However, when it comes to the graphics processing unit (GPU), the Snapdragon 820 is 32 percent faster, according to popular benchmarking site AnTuTu."

Mine arrived. No Gear VR included... not sure if it's a separate package though but i'm sure it was included.

It looks damn fine (black edge) and it's doing the transfer of apps over USB now.

I elected to skip the USB transfer, decided to set up from scratch so don't inherit any obsolete settings from my own phone.

This one nice looking unit. And the screen is superb. Loving the silver.

Samsung have come a long way from the dimpled back plastic days of the S5.
