Just a reminder that you can currently remove the shipping cost for most in-stock Dick Smith items by using the FREEBIE coupon code.

EDIT: Not valid for a Pixel pre-order as they're not currently in stock, but Dick Smith frequently offer free shipping, so once they actually have the phones...

Been following this topic very closely and cant wait for someone here to actually get their hands on a pixel 6 to see some answers to all our questions

MKBHD just posted his review of the phone, I find his videos usually pretty honest

I notice on the Dick Smith site it says "Sold by Electronics Superstore", it almost reads like those third party sellers you see on Amazon. Kogan are in that reseller sort of space too right?

I don't recall seeing anything like that on previous purchases there (Pixel 2, 4A 5G), has anyone else bought in this sort of scenario? Looking at my order history, my 4A 5G was "Sold by Dick Smith".

I feel like the service level is already kind of middling with Dick Smith proper, I'm a little uneasy about abstracting that away another level again. Would be nice to have a robust local option, as you're all aware!

I just pulled the trigger on the Pro from Dick Smith. 5G is not an absolute deal breaker for me as 4G is reasonable enough and I'm on WiFi most of the time, but I hope NZ carriers will sort it out anyway.

I'm not too worried RE that "Sold by Electronics Superstore" on the DS site, I took screenshots of the price being clearly stated in NZD (and this was in fact confirmed again during the transaction), and clearly listing that the price includes GST - if they try charge import duties on top of that it's an easy dispute with the option to charge-back with the bank if needed.

Thanks for testing the waters. Eagerly awaiting future updates on how this goes for you.

I still can't decide between 6 and 6 Pro. Pro sounds great for camera, but I've got small hands.

They don't charge your card until it is shipped?

Given it's $300 cheaper than PI but have to wait a month, I'm OK with it. Think of it like being paid $10 a day to wait 😃

I'll wait for the 256GB option before ordering. 128GB seems a bit small, 512GB unnecessary for me so the middle size storage hits my sweet spot.

It'll be a few years since I've owned a pure Google Android phone, actually since my old Nexus 4 and 5's.

Didn't think of that, actually.. but it's still on CC so I guess slightly deferred payment.
And yeah, my CC has been charged already :-(

When you get it, can you try on the kogan plan you should have received with it? Will be interested to see if VoLTE works with it (expect it will based on my PH-1 experience).
