ok i did a test this time with background data on permanently to see what difference it would make - i am a bit puzzled at the outcome

3% battery remaining right now
64hrs 3mins uptime, wtff???
display 70%, 5hrs 8min on
voice calls 17mins
wifi 3hrs 55mins

phone used "normally" meaning, 3g and wifi data when needed to sync, check emails, browse web when bored waiting for gf to try on 204 items as 'xmas day outfits', angry birds when cant sleep, and so on.

so i dont understand how enabling background data has given me my longest uptime yet.

maybe ill stick to this build until someone releases a stable gingerbread for the galaxy S...

Does anyone have the Vodafone 845? The battery life is quite short(approx. 4 hours or less), it doesn't last long, i use wi-fi everyday at home(usually just for twitter, and stuff like that), i also use it when i go out, since i can use twidroyd and facebook for android free till april.

Also, i don't know if this actually happens but i think my battery life gets used even when im not using my phone, not sure about it, but theres a possibility of that.

Dell Streak,
Froyo 2.2
5" Screen
Brightness: 100%
Sync Gmail
Sync Exchange Mail
Sync Twiter - TweetDeck
Sync Weather
eBook Reader

I forgot to take my charger to work one day and had to work late for training I got 15 hours, 40 mins with 12% left when I got it back on charger at home. That was from 5:55am to 9:35pm.

Now that was with above average use, I even updated my Streak to 2.2 and then added all my apps on again that day, so was very impressed that it lasted the day.

On a Normal day if I don't charge I can still have up to 33% Battery (5:55am to 6:25pm)

Currently Battery is at 82%; 1h 11m 14s since unplugged.

> Cell Standby: 36%
> Phone Idle: 27%
> Wi-Fi: 25%
> Display: 8%
> Android System: 2%

Cheers

Jace

Hi Kiwiboy,

I have a Vodafone 845 and I am happy with battery life - 2 days if I am careful. I suggest you load Juice defender (free app) - I have just left it on the default settings. It helps a lot.
