ewen: Wow the Processor is quite fast according to the 2degrees specs -  Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7230 8000MHz

:P

I wonder if they use water cooling to get it that fast

siimo2005: Couple of questions (these can't be found on google or other sites i tried):

- Does it have an ambient light sensor ? (for auto screen brightness)
- How much RAM does it have? (can check using a app like System Info)

Yes for the auto screen brightness, and it comes with 354MB RAM, 2GB external storage.

lokhor: I'd laugh if it was faster than the SGS, it has the same processor as the Desire Z. Perhaps Mauricio could run Quadrant, Linpack, Neocore and NenaMark1 and post results.

Running now, might take a bit of time...

354 ? thats a little stingy of Huawei.
Even the wildfire had 384mb.

I would've thought they would put in 512mb.
Sluggish much ?

Wow that's pretty good performance at that price. as for the 354mb of ram, that's more than the Galaxy S has available even with the most recent firmware which gave it a boost to 339mb.

So far, the most impressive Android I played with, actually. And very responsive. But let's see in a week...

BUGGER!

Thanks freitasm.  Not what I was hoping for.  It looks like they have everything in the stock Android BUT Japanese!

I'm pleased you think the screen is good.  That was one of my concerns as they could have saved quite a few $$ on this as it is one of the most expensive parts of the device.

A bit of a long shot, but is it Gorilla Glass?

There were two different versions with different chipsets and amounts of RAM.   The vodafone NZ one got the lesser amount of RAM unfortunately.
