Phoenix sounds interesting. It it stable, all the crapware removed, good enough for daily use? I quite like the look of the S5 interface.

Anyone know if the S5 touchwiz sorts downloaded apps? Unsure why there's even a split between downloaded and "other", since they seem to be put in there randomly.

It doesnt seem perfect, but still pretty good I think, I had a few app ccrashes when i first installed it, but its fairly okay now, I occasionally get one when i try to screenshot an app too

It has the new feature like Ultra Power saving mode

Sure am :) originally I really liked the way friedrich420 opened his thread he was humble. After helping out in the thread for a few weeks he asked me to join. Was one of the first members. Unfortunately my S4 had an accident. Now on the Nexus5 but am missing the S4 so will pick one up this weekend.

If anyone needs any help android related let me know very happy to help. I live and breathe mobile tech.

Hi All

does anybody know where I can get the 2degrees rom for my S4.
My S4 currently has the telecom rom but it won't connect to the 2degrees 4G network.

Sure you can get it from www.sammobile.com you will have to sign up for a account. Once you have at the top click firmwares choose NZC as your carrier.

does that mean telecom handsets wont go on to 4G for 2degrees

I also bought the telecom handset coz it was on a cheap deal at noel leemings last year but have been using on 2degrees since.

I recommend flashing the stock 2degrees package I posted. Extremely easy to do with Odin. Won't break warrenty or anything will completely wipe your phone though so just backup everything to PC and SD card first.

wow echoe breathes new life to this forum!

i must have special needs - every time i flash a custom rom/kernel the phone misbehaves in weird ways. and i have never noticed significant battery life improvement compared to me freezing wakelock things with titanium - would that be right?

(note i am not attacking you, just after the opinion of the PRO, thanks!)

It really depends on how you use your phone. For example I never use location services so I use the disable services app (play store) and turn everything location based off. Really extends my battery life, especially with the latest horrible Google play services.

The main reason to run a custom ROM is to add extra functionality you wouldn't have otherwise. On Echoe I have always found that in a 24hr cycle I can get 5hrs screen on time. Do you use greenify? Might be a good place to start.

Help please!!

I flashed echoe 25.1 over echoe 24 no wipe and it was fine. i then decided to wipe data after i found the keyboard wasn't working quite right.

went into recovery and wiped data and wiped cache and the dalvik cache.

now it boots and stays on the sammy logo. i can boot into recovery fine and have tried again to wipe data, cache and dalvik and even reinstalled the rom and still no go.

any ideas??? im guessing i can grab an official firmware via odin however hoping i dont need to so i can keep my current data eg pics and my texts.
