Dingbatt: Looks like some more info about 4.2.2 and sense 5 update, including long press for menu option, as well as other tweaks.

http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/01/htc-one-android-4-2-2-update/

Now to sit back wait while it is beta tested on European phones and then rolled out to us :-)

The long press menu option is a very good idea. you have ro wonder why an update is needed for a feature like this, and why it wasn't there to start with.

They had a long press back for menu in pre-release versions of firmware but it would occasionally fire the back button for some apps

eXDee: To those asking about battery tests, GSMarena is a reasonable real world use guide:

Web browsing and video playback are good guides of approximate screen on times.

The N9 has an interesting result though, sure you aren't just using the phone more?

Heh they report 10 hours browsing... I've had 4 tops. I do wonder if I have a dud battery. Never get through a full day.

Device is also quite warm from general browsing, guess that's normal tho.

I'd say so, I'm getting 2 days out of mine in some cases with moderate use.

Those shots are what it would do... if the screen was off!.
No smartphone will get "10hours  web browsing" with the screen actually being on.

4-5 hours of screen time is pretty good really.

Must be like an hour if it lasts that long :P

Here's my stat summaries from todays use - 9 hours from full to 14% with only 3 hours screen time. I have battery saver on all the time now in the hopes it'll help... I leave wifi and gps on tho which would be contributing for sure. I notice gps use is much higher than usual today... Not sure why that is - I was moving around a bit but still seems odd. Might have to see how battery goes with wifi / gps off for a day.

Under Wi-fi > Advanced  do you have 'Best Wi-Fi performance' checked? That does unspeakable brutal things to your battery.

With that checked I go from 30 hours and 4-5hours screen time to about 15 hours if I'm lucky.

I also just realised and I can't believe I missed since I even posted a photo of the bootloader back on April 30, this but the review units we got have S-Off.

I reckon I'd kill your battery in under 8 hours. ;-P (power user)

Only problem with that is a lot of people read your hours, wonder why they can't get the same, and then think their phone's broken.
Same thing with the GSM Arena stats.
People have to realise, if you get 12 hours, with reasonable usage, you're doing well... if you're hard out, expect 8 at the best.

Oh no I was referring to the battery life with Wi-Fi performance turned on.

I'm a fairly heavy user and am constantly amazed by how good the life of this phone is. YMMV obviously and no two batteries are created equal.

I've also found the Qualcomm Snapdragon BatteryGuru app to be rather good. It was made by Qualcomm to improve battery life on the latest Snapdragon powered phones.
