NzBeagle: Agreed, people who've seen this phone don't believe the price. For most, it'll do everything they need, perhaps sans 4g which is why it's not a regular for me. Perhaps that's why they're holding back, but at this price point, Nokia is the only one doing it right in NZ IMO.

...and Nokia is not doing it as right as the Moto G either.

So, the Moto G arrived today. Unbelievably fast service, ordered from Clove on the 7th and here on the 10th. Superb.

The phone itself is remarkable, truly stunning for the price. Utterly destroys the equivalent WP options.

Just tested USB OTG and it is very capable indeed, even does USB audio and gamepads.

Hi there all,

I've noticed people have had success ordering the Moto G from Clove and Amazon, but has anyone had success ordering it direct from Motorola through their site?

I tried a few weeks ago with my Youshop delivery address (admittedly, my first time using the service) and my order was automatically cancelled. Got a hold of one of their online help people, and was told it was cancelled because there was a problem with the address... which is odd, given that I'd just copied and pasted the address given by Youshop.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Yes, read through the thread, every order on the Motorola site is cancelled automatically. Order it from Clove, Amazon UK, or maybe Amazon US.

Yeah, they cancelled my order to Youshop. Amazon US is your best bet.

Ah I see. Thank you both, much appreciated.

Purely as an academic exercise only as I don't need another phone right now I tried to order one from Amazon to be shipped to NZ.

While the item description says available to be shipped to select countries outside the US when I went to checkout it said unable to ship to your chosen destination.

Normally when Amazon indicates that an item is available to be shipped outside the US NZ usually included.

Interesting.

I got my partners from amazon uk as they had it earlier, and it was an xmas pres. No surprise the US is cheaper than the UK, it always is.

I swapped to US as it was cheaper - ended up arriving on the 24th anyway!

Amazon.com. But I really don't need it and was intrigued why they said shipping to select countries outside US but not NZ.

Total cost of a 16GB Moto G from Amazon.com via YouShop = NZ$268.

Price for the same on TradeMe = ~$400.

I've got 2 on the way via separate shipments, one for the fiancee, and if I like it, then my Note 3 goes on TradeMe and I keep the other one, if not, then I sell the MotoG.

Ordered the replacement back from elsewhere as it was cheaper, they seem to be either sold out or being almost scalped.
