I am starting to get concerned with my Note 5. It's behaviour isn't ideal right now. It keeps taking a really long time to wake up, and occasionally lagging really hard. Then today my wife was calling me, and the phone seemed under such load it wasn't playing ringtone properly and I couldn't answer it. Top that with seemingly terrible Wifi and I am wondering if I might have a fault!

The delayed wake up doesn't get me too often, but I get plenty of lag with Hangouts, which I put down to Hangouts related rather than the phone as I don't notice it elsewhere. I don't have any issue with the WiFi so that might be unit specific. I don't have the sound on so can't comment on the ringtone issue.

Mines always had lag and its always taken a long time to wake up on occasion. Mine also sticks to inferior wifi networks when a stronger one is available. I just hope its fixed in the Marshmallow update.

May be best to just root it. Once Samsung has sold us the phone that's about it!

Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/development/rsr-mm-pre-rooted-stock-deodexed-fast-t3337331

the rom you've linked isn't for the Nz models of the note 5 so I wouldn't recommend that.

Anyone recommend a place in Christchurch to fix back of Note 5. Dropped it and shattered glass back. So need to replace.

Excellent point.

Mine came in from a parallel importer, so very important to know exactly what model you've got and match it up the appropriate ROM.

Do you guys find you have bluetooth/wifi/4g and general connectivity issues if you haven't rebooted your phone for a while?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I think I need to schedule a reboot every few days then, annoying but at least I am not alone!

It's a real pain. I was considering a factory reset at one point before realising I could replicate the issue by not restarting the phone for a while.

Factory resets are SUCH a pain. Takes DAYS to get everything back to the way I like it working.

I avoid it like the plague.

That's why I didn't do it. ;)
This is the first phone I've left unrooted and on stock firmware. No titanium backup to do a quick restore...
