Hi all, quick question for those that bought their N6P from 2Degrees.

Does the update get delayed because of the carrier?

Cheers!

Where you purchase from makes no difference, it's the SIM card you're using. I'm on 2degrees and got my update a few days ago.

Thanks ramboky!

Since Voda aren't selling the 6P they will liekly have no control over updates, only 2D would as we saw with 4.4.4 for the N5. It was delayed in order to work with their 4G or something like that.

If you are having a delay with a Nexus it is most likely down to you simply being further down the in OTA queue in Google's servers, no big deal really :)

I'm on Spark. I got one update as soon as I fired up the device on the 3rd (must have been the October update). I got the November update at the end of last week from memory. Updates from Google usually take 2 - 3 weeks to roll out to everyone. About 1% of devices for the first few days to check for any problems, then another 25%, then 50% & 100% over the next couple of weeks.

ramboky: That's really odd, I used free shipping for both my Nexus 6P order and a case I currently have on order (two separate orders) and both shipped via Toll Global Priority with tracking.

It does seem very odd, the more I think about it.  @MattEast and I are in the exact same boat.  Looks to me like Google are marking the package as shipped, but something has happened inbetween, hence the no tracking number scenario.  Either that or some dodgy shipping employee has decided that they need a nice new case for their Nexus 6P.

I've also spoken to Toll and they were actually great about it.  Considering my lack of a tracking number I was still able to find out that there are no outstanding deliveries in my area, so the thing is MIA somewhere between here and Hong Kong.  Hopefully my new order will arrive this time and who knows, the first one might one day wash ashore here as well!

And, just FYI, that was my experience almost exactly as well (also Spark) - one on startup on 3rd and the November update maybe Tuesday this week (10th).

How do you guys find the fingerprint scanner ?
I find it works very well most of the time, quick and phone unlock before I can bring it up. But then some time it doesn't work at all even after all 5 or 6 attempts. It's almost like if the first attempt failed then the next few would fail as well no matter what I do.
II have tried re-setup fingers can a few times and in different way but result is the same

I've added both my fingers twice, I found my fingers are a bit clammy so it doesn't recognize my fingerprint well. Doing the same finger again has improved it immensely

LOL.

I kid you not, whenever I am by myself, fingerprint scanner works all the time.

The moment I go to show somebody my new toy it doesn't work.

"Its even got a fingerprint scanner" Then I place my finger on the scanner. "Oh wait" I try again "Hmm ok". I start going red.

A few attempts later, the person I am showing is losing interest and just walks away from me thinking god knows what...

Been having a good play with my N6P.had it since 5pm yest. So far I find it brilliant.

Everything is a breeze to use. Fingerprint scanner never misses a beat. My old S4 already seems like a small phone. I've adapted to the size more quickly than I thought I would.

Harvey Norman was great to deal with online

The case I ordered from the Google store arrived a few days later than the 6-9 Nov estimate. Ordered on the 28th, shipped the next day, but I was never able to access any tracking info on the package, just that link to the Hong Kong postal site. Wished I'd ordered the case earlier, it ended up arriving 8 days after the phone.
