I had the Edge in my hand yesterday and I have to say that its a beauteous thing!

Feels amazingly comfortable in hand. If all goes well I'll be picking mine up today :)

I root the old phones to get upgrades. I don't root new phones anymore. Too many problems with flakey ROMs and too much time to work out how to do something that too often isn't worth the trouble (to me).

But I'll definitely look at using this path to 'upgrade' an older phone to later firmware after the vendor abandons it. Yeah...I know that too often defines a new Samsung phone. My SGS6 phones haven't had the marshmallow upgrade yet.....while my Nexus phone got it 5 months ago.

Just got mine - the edge version in black. Amazing phone, coming from the Sony Z2. No lags whatsoever so far. Touchwiz seems a lot more in the background compared to my last Samsung device - Note v1.0.

The biggest hassle right now is trying to find a screen protector for it!

I'm upgrading from an S3 so the comparison between the two phones probably won't mean much.

Whenever I've held an S6 Edge or Note 5 in-store, I can feel the phone edges dig in slightly. Didn't notice that at all with the S7 Edge.

I've got an S6 and the S7E and it's a different feel, for sure. The edge is harder to pickup off a flat surface, but once in the hand feels more secure. The aluminium and glass feels the same though. Solid, and definitely premium.

My S7 Edge was delivered at 7:53am this morning, Loving it so far....

Hasn't been a very productive day at work, unless you count getting my personal phone set up the way I like it and checking out all the new features and general pi$$ing about with it :)

I love the transfer cable/USB connector from my old phone to new, made life so much easier.

Feels very nice, now I just have to be careful until I get a case for it... and hide it's beauty from the world!!

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

I went for silver. Hesitated on breaking seal, did I want to swap out for black?

No I didn't - the silver is standout! It looks absolutely beautiful, just the right balance, not too blingy. The black is nice, but feels tired compared.

Same here. I don't need the time 24/7. I'd rather eek out the battery.

Speaking of which - 65% on start up, and only 37 minutes to 100% on fast charge!

fyi for anyone wondering about the Exynos vs Snapdragon powered versions, Phonearena did a run of both, for gaming the Snapdragon has a slight advantage, for web browsing the Exynos, personally I browse the web more than play games so I'm happy with Exynos version. Phonearena will also be doing a battery life test to see if one is better than the other soon.

I'm with you on this one.

I stopped rooting after S4. I rooted it because it was slow, laggy, too much bloatware but after S5 things became more efficient .

Too many things go wrong with rooting. Sometimes bluetooth doesn't work, Battery drains faster, Some program might freeze,...

Things has improved a lot since the S3 days... I think Mashmallow is much better now than back in the old days when jellybean was a pain.

The S7 runs amazingly fast
