I am literally lost for words. I just went to try and transfer my data from my Note 5 to the Pixel XL.

There is a USB3 to USBC cable in the box. There is a USBC to USB C cable in the box for charging. There is a USB3 to USBC Converter (WHY!?!?!!).

What there ISN'T in the box, is a USBC to MicroUSB Converter. Surely 95% of what you'd  be transferring data FROM would have Micro USB.

DUMBEST thing I've seen in 6 months.

I guess they're assuming you're gonna use the dongle with your existing micro usb or lightning cable.. Which seems fair.

Doh, that was dumb of me. Sorry for the rant, not sure what the heck I was thinking :)

So after having it for a couple days, I am going to move it on. I prefer my S-Pen and hardware button for now.

I'll offer it here first for $1250. I have the receipt from JBHifi AU in case anyone wants that as well. It's basically brand new, hasn't even needed to be charged yet!

PM if you are keen.

So you have the 32 GB or 128 GB pixel? Or is it the Pixel XL? Colour?

Sorry, I think you mentioned it in an earlier post but just making sure.

or live WITH the edge!

The pricing remains the main impediment I reckon. Google are charging the same as iPhone, but the advantage that the iPhone has is that it's a proven flagship product with historical high resale value. Also, importantly, Apple don't sell your information, so a higher price is understandable as they are primarily a hardware company. Google, on the other hand, are earning from the information you provide to them, so it would be rational to expect a lower hardware price to compensate.

The Pixel looks like a great phone. But so is the Oneplus 3 at a price around $500 less than the Pixel.

Not from NZ yet. I'm waiting on PBTech to announce, as they're local and will have the benefit of NZ CGA :)

Thanks. Likewise.  Just thought if there were a reasonable offshore option (flying to Australia is not an option), I might look at it.

Cheers

I agree the price is a bit out there for the phone.

If they were the same price as last years nexus phones I would have looked very hard at them.
