A follow up to my question about the Note 8 from Noel Leeming and 2degrees software, got a response from 2degrees

Thank you for your email.

In regards to the samsung Note 8, it won't be locked to 2degrees and would not have 2degrees software. The preloaded software would be from samsung only.

The logo only comes up when you turn on the phone if the handset it locked, since the Note 8 is not locked it shouldn't come up with the logo.

I also asked a sales person at my local Noel Leeming and they also said it shouldn't come with any carrier software. Maybe the online rep for Noel Leeming was mistaken. In any case, I've decided to hold off on the Note 8. I haven't ruled it out but I have to wait and see what Google is going to do with the Pixel XL2, and sort of want to wait and see how much the LG V30 will go for as well.

Is New Zealand getting the Exynos chip set? If so means we can get video recording 4k @60fps =D

Yeah, Snapdragon is only for regions using CDMA.

Sorry to burst your bubble but looks like that was a typo from Samsung...

Limited by the Snapdragon SoC and i guess they don't want to have 2 different variants going around with one supporting it and the other not,

Well, I just called about my HN Pre-order. They said they know nothing about the earlier date and don't expect to release until the original release date!

My status for click and collect isn't showing any new information, not showing as packing etc.

Not sure how concerned to be. I won't be happy if I don't get my phone on the 20th with everyone else.

Mines not showing any different status either. I will check again on Wednesday and Thursday. Did you ring where you are picking it up from or is yours being couriered?
