While I’m a bit disappointed to see my Fold 3 on the same schedule as my old S10, I understood that Samsung had a few issues with making the A12/OneUI4 combo operate bug free on the Fold. Hopefully those are sorted.

Havent seen any earth shattering features in either A12 or OneUI4 that mean I can’t wait, but the security patch still sitting on Nov is a bit poor.

Just curious to see if WiFi calling is working on the Z Fold 3?
The brief time I've had a play with wife's Z Fold 3, I can see the toggle and turn it on but it just doesn't display the VoWiFi icon while connected to home WiFi, it just displays the VoLTE icon.

Anyone else having the same issue? I tried rebooting and turning off mobile data, makes no difference.

The WiFi calling issue still persists on wife's zFold 3, we are all on Vodafone.

The WiFi calling icon would appear momentarily before disappearing and replaced by the VoLTE icon, very strange behaviour.

WiFi calling on VF isn't the same implementation as 2D's one. The phone needs to have VoLTE off and sometimes even Airplane mode to work.

It's to cover the removal of their suresignal

Ok, a bit of an update -

I was able to force the phone to display wifi calling icon by turning on airplane mode.

As soon as the airplane mode is turned off, the VoLTE icon returned.

This appears to be a software bug and raised this issue with Samsung and is chatting to Vodafone about this issue while typing this.

This isn't a major issue and will not affect wife's day to day use of the phone since she hardly ever calls but the geek in me just feeling annoyed that an advertised feature doesn't work properly.

My S20U is working perfectly on wifi calling.

That's how my S20 FE behaves. VoLTE appears preferred with a fall back to VoWiFi as required. I only ever see 1 icon or the other, never both simultaneously.

I don't think it displays both VoLTE and VoWifi simultaneously but just displays one or the other, i.e. displays VoLTE when on mobile data only or VoWiFi when connected to wifi or for those phones that are too old, displays VoLTE all the time regardless (e.g. my wife's old Note 9)

Hopefully this can be resolved with a future software update

It seems you think being on WiFi means the phone will only use VoWiFi. Correct?

I'm saying that isn't the case. If mobile signal is sufficient for VoLTE then it prefers that. It is only when mobile signal is too weak that it switches to VoWiFi.

Only on Vodafone as it seems VoWiFi will always be the default on 2degrees.

It is also the default if roaming.

our mobile reception at home (4G/4G+) is around 1-2 bars (not sure if this is an accurate measure of reception strength though)

As mentioned my S20U does not have this issue and we have a 3-unit mesh set up at home for wifi so wifi strength/signal not an issue either.

So i got android 12 (oneUI 4.0) yesterday on my s7 tablet, still nothing for the fold 3.  Patch is still on Nov 2021.  This is getting past a joke now.

Finally got the update late last night.  Installing took about 20 minutes, phone running fine so far.

Yes. I went through my morning ritual of checking for the update and there it was (finally). 2.9GB and Jan 1 security patch.

Edit: Done. As you said, it takes about 20 minutes to install. Now I’ll just need to go through and adjust all the settings that inevitably get changed to default by an update.
