^ I haven't had major scratches but you do end up micro scratches if you look hard enough with the right angle of light. Depends on one's tolerance levels.

Yes indeed.... I have just given my S8+ screen a clean and I can see a few micro scratches only visible when screen is dark and in high ambient light levels.... doesn't worry me.... my phone has has a lot of use.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

I wonder why a screen protector is required when the phone has a Gorilla Victus glass screen?

I have never been keen on screen protectors in case of loss of sensitivity when using the touch screen.... never ever scratched a screen.

Maybe the screen protector is required when using the stylus?

Microscratches are the main reason for me, especially as my environment has a lot of quartz-filled dust (not to mention sand), which gets stuck on fingers, stylus and screen and makes them pretty much innevitable.

No doubt I'll just take it off for the nicer look and feel once the being-precious period is over though.

I also can't imagine the stylus is any better/worse than a finger unless somehow the stylus got something sharp stuck in/on the tip.

https://www.sammobile.com/news/more-future-galaxy-smartphones-could-ship-without-screen-protector/

Just seen this and it seems to imply that s22's will have pre-installed screen protector.

Shipping dates pushed out on Samsung Website. Not sure if these dates apply to 'Day 1' orders also, i.e. are they anticipating different delivery batches and updating the website accordingly.

Mine still says 2/3, but having finally got a response from the store team about my orders I don't even know if I'm getting one. They seem to think my orders been cancelled but the order still says processing at my end and they still have my money. Got to wait 2 days for them to respond to my stink o gram about their incompetence and inability to respond to emails causing this.

Anyone know the return policy if purchased from online store? Just wondering if for some reason the base S22 battery life is as bad as everyone saying online, then was thinking if there would be an option to return it?

I tried finding out from Samsung Live Chat if the S22 Ultra came with a pre-installed screen protector, but 3/3 times I waited in the queue until I reached number 1 in the queue, and then a message came up each time saying "Chat Was Closed" without any interaction from the agent I'd been waiting for. I gave up when attempt 4 returned me to position 20 in the queue, and no reason to suspect I'd not get abruptly shoved off again. So I contacted Samsung NZ by phone instead. The person I spoke to wasn't sure, but he suspected it did not come with a screen protector since they were also selling TPU screen protectors as accessories.

To try and get a definitive answer I ended up phoning a local 2degrees store, who has demo stock on hand. He said there did not appear to be a protector on the Ultra. In the past Samsung models that had factory pre-installed protectors also had them on the demo models.

But then I read someone was told by Live Chat on a previous comment here that they do come with one, so....

That's not entirely encouraging. I've read that some other regions that normally get them don't have them this time either (hence my question to live chat).

Hopefully the live chat person that talked to me actually knew what they were talking about...

I have been busy and must admit I haven't looked too much at this thread, was there a consensus on who had the best overall outright buy deal right now or best with a plan deal?

I want the S22 Ultra 256Gb

In case anyone is interested, it Looks like NZ should be getting pre-installed screen protectors again according to Samsungs live chat today:

"Yes, the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a pre-installed screen protector. "

I'd heard some reports of other regions not getting them this time and had been trying to decide if I wanted to find a day-one protector or just getting brave and going with a naked screen on a new phone...

I can confirm they are not going to come with pre installed screen protectors.

Just pre-ordred the S22 128GB via Samsung NZ.

They offered the best day for me, only $1099, using the code mentioned earlier, with free Galaxy Buds 2 and silicone case.
Wanted to keep it under $1150, so I can claim it as an outright business expense :)

I'm coming from a Galaxy S10e, which has suited me well for almost 3 years, but looking forward to the S22.
