AndrewTD: On a related note - I was pleased to get an OTA update to 4.0.3 on my Asus Transformer (TF101) this morning. Am now enjoying ice cream sandwich goodness. I hadn't been all that hopeful on getting ICS for my TF101, so it is a pleasant surprise.

I just purchased a TF101G (3G model) so this is good news. Hopefully when I boot it up there might be an update waiting.

Nope, pretty sure they said you'll still be waiting another couple of weeks for ICS on the 101g

Also, if anyone is having issues with the ICS upgrade (I foudn it was quite laggy for me), do a factory reset after the update. Everything is silky and smooth for me now and running far better than it was before (derp, for some reason I thought I was in the TF101 thread, ignore that last bit)

OK well it won't be here for about 8 days so not too long after that to wait.

Just got the 64GB Transformer Prime with dock at JB HiFi for $1189.

I agree that it's a nice device, but I'm starting to doubt whether I'd use it much. The guy at JB Hifi said I had a couple of weeks in which I could return it for any reason... so I'll keep playing with it for a while and see if I fall in love with it.

Are you other Transformer Prime owners happy with your purchase still?

I've had mine (review unit that Asus is slow to wanting back) for a few weeks now and I've barely touched the thing since completing the review. I'm talking 6.5 days of buggerall use... I really don't need a tablet when I have a perfectly capable laptop.

Ignoring my own personal issues with tablets on a whole, the Prime is the best tablet out there, at least until the Pad Infinity launches

Ive had mine several months.
Came from selling an Ipad, also have a Macbook and a Galaxy Note.
Probably use the Asus more than the laptop-portability wise
Love the dock on it.
Have 2 Android devices is useful.
Asus does have a few downsides.
Was going to sell the laptop but I just cant quite do that yet.

I have the older Asus Transformer TF101 - with keyboard dock.
I use it pretty much every day.
It's my "prime" machine at home for browsing and emailing.
I am very pleased with it.

kind regards Andrew TD

I use my v1 transformer for reading blogs and news in bed and in the bathroom, playing games on the sofa, checking movie reviews deciding what to watch, reading the news in the morning while I eat breakfast.

Hi all,

Currently looks like the price difference between the original Transformer and Prime is about 350 to four hundred. From around $700 for original to a bit north of $1000 for Prime, both with dock. I think it is kind of silly buying this tablet without.

Anybody care to comment on whether the Prime is worth the extra money? Also the gap between Prime and a low end Ultrawhatever is kind of small, any comment there?

Thanks for the info, one of these is now on my shopping list.

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?
