Dingbatt:
CdTDroiD: Einfo has them in stock over the shore for $895 inc now in both colors

I see they also have the One S, but it is only $45 cheaper. Not sure if that is enough of a price differential for no NFC, half the storage and a smaller display.

Got mine already. Pretty nice. Heaps lighter than any other HTC device I've had. WiFi reception is rubbish might be just the software though

CdTDroiD: Anyone else notice a drop in WiFi range?

Seems fine to me considering I have about 4 other wifi devices within a metre of it

Oh, but I did encounter an issue where Wi-Fi and 3G died on me and it took a restart with airplane mode enabled to get it working again

Bad enough to be a pain in my ass, most people would be ok i would imagine, but there are to issues for me..

1. I didnt have good range to begin with, before hand i was on about 1 or 2 bar generally but would never loose it (at work) where as now i can only just get on the dot and it falls out.

2. The general HTC One X issue with DHCP and not reconnecting afterwards means i pretty much cant use it in my bedroom or in my office lol.

hopefully a radio update will fix it but there isnt one yet. Otherwise ill have to sort something else out.

Hi Guys (long time reader, first time poster, haha)

So I am waiting for Vodafone to release their price / plan options but am getting the feeling they are waiting for Telecom's pre-release deal to be over, either because that cant or dont want to have to match it.

Bit of a pain that they wont give customers a straight answer, e.g on their Forums an admin was asked why do you not have release date and when can we expect it? they answered with "This is why it's call coming soon and no time frame listed"

any way.... are many of you waiting for vodafone before you pick where you will buy your handset and for those that are what do you think they are going to do?

Yeah I'm waiting for Vodafone. But if they take too long Telecom will get my business.
The only reason I'm still waiting is I get 3gb with vodafone and don't want to loose it.

Got an MHL cable today and just played a few rounds of Riptide GP and Shadowgun THD through my TV - WOW! Looks amazing. I had to remind myself several times that the whole game was actually playing out of the thing I was using as a controller, and that thing was my phone. Sick.

It was a bit finicky with the connection, but I'm pretty sure that was just because the cheapy MHL cable I got off trademe didn't have high quality plugs - had to wiggle it a few times to get it back on the TV screen.

Regardless, I certainly don't need a gaming console anymore. Tegra 3 One X + a bluetooth gaming controller + MHL would be heaven. That said, using the phone as the controller worked fine.

Will try mine in the office tomorrow, only ran it on mobile data today. Will take wifi signal strength readings and report back to see if there's any difference from 1.26 for me.

Wifi signal strength measurement is almost exactly the same for me with 1.28 as it was with 1.26
