Has anyone installed the latest version of Oxygen (9.0.2) that came out in the last day?

It seems like the final release is out only a day or so after the beta version, and it brings a bunch of interesting changes from the 6T  - the one that interests me the most is introducing Nightscape for improved low-light photos a la Pixel 3's Night Sight. Also interested to see what the changes to the gestures are, as I already find them useful.

The frustrating thing is, only a few weeks after being told about Oxygen Updater on this thread, that app's no longer working due to some changes made by OnePlus.

So are we safe to use the direct download link given near the bottom of that webpage linked to above?

Anyway, the  list of changes given are:

System

  • Brand new navigation gestures
  • Improved UI for About phone
  • Optimized standby power consumption
  • Updated Android security patch to 2018.11
  • Added support to launch Google Assistant or other third party assistant app by holding the power button for 0.5 seconds
  • General bug fixes and improvements
  • Camera

    • Added Nightscape
    • Added Studio Lighting to enhance face contour

I have tree choppers here today so I am in the office listening to music, I will give this a whirl and report back.

I decided against doing this, after looking at what was on offer I figured I would wait until the official final release is done.

This is the official final release. Only difference here is that the OTA is staged, so you'll get the same release via OTA sooner or later. And when you do, I do recommend upgrading it as it contains crucial security patches (+ the new night camera mode is awesome). :)

Yeah, the update is final as the link I gave earlier states. Easy to do as well, even without Oxygen Updater - simply a matter of downloading the file, sticking it in the root directory of the phone, then selecting it from the update screen. I keep on forgetting to try out the new night camera mode, which is the main reason I upgraded.

@d3Xt3r - do you know what changes were made to the gestures? I haven't been able to spot the apparently new ones.

Apparently there's a new gesture to switch to the previous app - swipe up and then right - but I couldn't get it to work, maybe I'm doing it wrong..  I don't really use OnePlus gestures though, I prefer having the navbar (for double-tap to switch) + Edge Gestures app which is a lot more configurable and convenient. :)

OTA available this morning on the 6. I have installed without issue and it only took a short time. Will have a play with night mode tonight

So anyone hard to do a warranty replacement with Parallel Imported? Looking at the 256GB which isn't available with PB Tech. Parallel Imported used to have a fairly bad reputation, not as bad as Expert Infotech perhaps but still..... Looking online they seem to have improve somewhat however for all PBTech's flaws, it seems like they're still probably better and also offering a 2 year warranty unlike Parallel's one year. So wondering whether to pay a little more and sacrifice the 256GB for greater peace of mind. Yes CGA and all that, but there's something to be said for a retailer who recognises that a 1 year warranty on such an expensive phone is ridiculous in NZ.

I have to say I do not really use gestures at all anyway. Much happier with buttons and icons etc.
