ryan1019: well that option is for "incoming calls" maybe something to do with keyboard options il look

I think it depends on what keyboard you are using, for me its settings: Language and keyboard: HTC_IME mod: scroll down to to custom vibration length: enter a number ie 0 for no vibration.

However just checked the phone dialler and it doesnt stop that from vibrating.

If it's like the N1 you may be looking for a setting for "hepatic feedback" ?

You mean "haptic" feedback :)

That setting only works for the keyboard unfortunately.

Ryan: Why would you want to get rid of the vibration anyway? I reckon it's a really good feature. At least you know you clicked on something.

I'm on the $10 for 100mb per month add-on. The $1 a day for 10mb is a rip off if you use the internet daily, simply because you don't use 10mb a day and it doesn't roll over to the next day.

Has anyone come from an iPhone 3GS? Want to know if you find the screen as easy to use on the Desire, especially typing and responsiveness.

@heavenly_wild: My brother has a 3GS, which he absolutely loves. He's had quite a bit of play with my Desire and he's been thoroughly impressed. Similarly, having played around with his 3GS as well, I personally find the keyboard much better and more responsive than the iPhone one.

@ryan: Be patient and just wait for an extended life battery to be released. It's bound to appear soon.

I got carried away and got the $30 for 500MB add on to my prepay plan. With WiFi at home and a PC at work (and pending WiFi) to do web surfing I feel a bit silly going for such a big plan, shows how much I knew about smart phones before getting one! :-) So next month I'm down sizing to the 100MB add on.

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-broadband/which-plan-is-right.jsp#/#tab2

I know this looks like a plan for a vodem but works on Prepay mobile plan too.

Best thing is to log into the Vodafone website and you can then see all of the available add ons and manage your add ons on a Prepaid account.

Has anyone got Co-Pilot Live? What are the maps like? The Market has comments about being out of date for Australia, so I'm wondering how up to date NZ maps are?

@revowution,

Thanks for the feedback:) Just played with the Desire and man... Very impressive. Extremely responsive and it can load any complicated website without a problem. The only downside is that it isn't as "fluid" as the iPhone 3GS, in terms is scrolling. The screen is easy to use on the desire and man... How do I remortgaged the house now?;)

@heavenly_wild: I agree, in the scrolling department, the 3GS has a slight upper hand.

Call me biased, but in terms of everything else, my money is on the Desire :P
