I'm going to pick one of these up at Office Depot for $399 usd tomorrow, before I head back to New Zealand next week. I'm wondering if I'll need a US to New Zealand power adapter or a power converter to be able to charge it without cooking it. I'm sure somebody at radioshack can tell me but wanted to ask here as some of you will have first hand experience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.

I got the US version from Amazon. You just need a US to NZ plug adaptor. The power supply is 110 to 240 V but only comes with the US pins (two straight ones). I got a cheap pin adaptor and it works fine. Illegal to sell on trademe though! ;-)

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Awesome, thanks. I picked up the transformer this morning. $436.99 usd with tax. It's charging now, can't wait to try it. I'll see if radioshack have an adapter.

Give it a charge and it should last the whole flight home!

Worst thing about these Transformers is the lack of aftermarket power cables. Last time I checked Asus wanted $50 USD for a USB cable/power brick.

I have to take it back tomorrow and get it exchanged, the power brick must be faulty as it won't charge from it at all. It can get some charge from USB, but that takes too long and that isn't good enough for something I just bought. Anybody else had this issue? Charged it for 8 hours on mains then went to turn it on and nothing happened no matter how long I held down the button. Tried multiple outlets and still nothing.

First I've heard of it. Some people had problems with the early docks in that they'd run themselves down completely flat and then wouldnt hold a charge, but I think this was fixed some time ago. But I havent heard anything about the tablet bricking itself on charge before!

Just took it back to get it exchanged, they didn't have anymore in stock so I had to go 30 miles to a store in Irvine where they exchanged it no questions asked. When I opened the new one the first thing I noticed was that the power brick was wrapped in plastic whereas the faulty one hadn't been.. so I'm thinking the faulty one was a returned tablet they were reselling. Plugged in the new one and it turned on straight away, so now I'm leaving it to charge for 8 hours, even though the wait will kill me! It was surprising how low the stock in stores was, they gave me a list of stores nearby and how much stock they had and the highest number was a store in Santa Clara which had 4.

gcorgnet: Received my TF yesterday (ordered Sat morning on Amazon.com).

No nasty surprise on opening and build quality seems solid. Small amount of light bleed on the bottom but I probably only saw it because I was looking for it, barely noticeable unless watching black screen with brightness cranked up...

Will go hunting for the perfect sleeve today but I am thinking I might try and get the cheapest I can for now and buy one that was made for the TF once they are a bit more available...

I have an Everki 10.1" commute, designed for my old netbook, fits the width of the tablet nicely, also takes the charger and eventually the keyboard.  however if you don't want to carry the charger/keyboard round, it might not be that good

Off to look for a sleeve tonight hopefully one not too expensive!

Have seen the eco-nique one which looks ace, if a bit bulky but quite expensive. Have a kindle one of theirs which is good.

Looks like theres a cool canon SLR control app out now too must be worth a try!

I have the XS STM sleeve. It's too long but wide enough for both dock/keyboard and tablet. I can even slip my phone in there too.

I bought the Logitech M305 wireless mouse in the weekend. It is on special until today from Dick Smith. I'm blown away how you can use ordinary computer things for this tablet.

Using a mouse is a very nice experience.

I'm also reading on XDA how you can use a dongle to get 3G. though I can achieve 3G making a wireless hotspot with my phone. There seems to be few limits with the tablet.

I can't say I'm a fan of Polaris (software). I'll look to see if there are alternatives.
