I expect you can't say but is there any feeling that VF/ZTE will have a solid update program for these handsets? I know it is a dream but would love to know that we will eventually see Android M on these

I have a feeling everyone will be pleasantly surprised. ;)

Mate this is what we want to hear!! Awesome, with phones this good for so little its got to hurt the flagships, it is getting too hard to quantify the cost

Okay, in that case it's 5.1 then? :)

Any change to the Android version = platform upgrade.

I'd have said it was 5.1 if 5.1 was coming tomorrow. :)

I'll wait and see.  Thanks for the update by the way :)

droidxt: Having trouble getting the SD card to work. The card is just a 4gb class 4 from an old phone but I can't the smart ultra wont recognize it. Tried formatting as fat32...

Turns out the phone was faulty. Took it back to warehouse stationary and  they happily replaced it with brand new unit. Works fine now.

What about the Smart Prime?  Any updates in the works for that?

Yes.

I guess we're getting Android M OTA tomorrow? ;)

Maintenance release, not platform upgrade. :)

It's a MR not a change

Just sorted it out by flashing stock ROM (UK version, instructions included in the zip file): http://www.ztedevice.com/support/eccd1567-5b37-4f94-b0d9-8000363ff831.html

Has anyone tried to use the Stay Alive! app (for preventing screen sleep)? It works fine on my Moto G, but on this phone the per-app mode is broken (it just keeps the screen on constantly regardless of what app is running). I can't figure out what it's problem is. I'm using a carbon copy of the settings from my moto g, and both phones are on the same OS.

I installed NZ_MR01d over the air last night. Now when it restarts my phone thinks the date is 6th April 1970 and the time won't automatically update unless either my data is on or I am connected to wifi. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?  I could understand the date changing to 1st Jan 1970, but 6th April?

Just turned on the Flight Mode and restarted my phone, the date & time seems fine.  I'd backup and reset my phone if I had the same issue. Or following the link and reinstall the stock ROM: http://www.ztedevice.com/support/eccd1567-5b37-4f94-b0d9-8000363ff831.html

Mine showed a weird time after update but network time was switched off, not sure if operator error or update switched it off but it only went back a couple of days

Anyone tried Android Pay using this phone?  I managed to install the apk and add my credit card but haven't tried using it yet.  I'll give it a go tomorrow when I buy my morning coffee.

I suspect it will fail with "not available in your country" error like Google Wallet used to but worth a crack anyway.

They are just rolling it out in the US now. Why would you think it would work here?

Just wait for Semble support.
