So I have been using the Pixel XL 32 Gb for the last 4 days.. (please take into consideration that I have upgraded from a Galaxy S4. I have used an S5, S6, 6P for short periods of time but the S4 was my primary phone)

- yes it is a very expensive phone

- there is too much bezel and I find myself tapping there thinking there are buttons

- it feels very nice in the hand but i have a constant fear that ill drop it. Feels like a phone that if dropped, could shatter into a number of pieces

- Battery life is very good for my use. Everyday browsing, messages, camera and a little bit of Fifa on the phone. Lasted a day and a half

- Software - Nougat is top notch. All the other bells and whistles are user friendly too.

- The rear of the phone does not look that great with the glass. But hey, ill be getting a case soon.

- Finger print scanner- awesome and works every time.

- 32GB is too little, but i am make do with backing up using Google Drive and Photos

And here's why i bought the phone

- the camera. As per all the other online reviews, Wow. Especially low-light photos. The free unlimited storage is a nice perk too :)

Tried doing some slow motion and fireworks photos this weekend, turned out much better than I expected.

Yeah the things I am missing about my Note7 and the Pixel, is the battery life. I love my Note5, but it's not really coping with my battery needs as well as I'd like.

The V20 can't arrive soon enough. Next month will be an expensive month for me, V20, PS4 Pro, blah blah

The silver 32GB XLs didn't arrive, so the supplier is getting a few unhappy phone calls.

It's the 128GB units that are due to arrive next week. If you ordered a black 32GB XL, it'll be on its merry way to you ASAP.

Pretty overcast in South Auckland this morning, so may not be able to help in the bright sun department just yet. Will give the speaker a whirl at some point today.

In the US at the moment so managed to try the phones out. First impressions are they feel nice and are very snappy. But they are out of stock at the stores if you want unlocked units as well as on Google. The only way to get one is to get a plan with Verizon or TMobile at the moment.

Out of interest has anybody thought of getting one direct from Google shipped to Youshop? The Google price for 32GB XL is US$749 and assuming shipping to NZ off about $25 and then GST that makes the landed price about NZ$1255.

That does save over the local pricing without the warranty and the CGA.

Nevertheless, it has fewer 3G/4G bands compared to international version so coverage might be a bit wonky worldwide ...

I know someone who is looking to buy one off amazon, as they have credit to use up. Will the ones they are selling work in NZ. I notice they say Factory Unlocked US Version. Although I see google also sell an international one on Amazon. Will the US version be fine in NZ, or are they better with the international version?

According to GSM Arena it looks like these are the differences between the two models.

LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 20(800), 21(1500), 26(850), 28(700), 32(1500), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) - Global

LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 28(700), 29(700), 30(2300), 41(2500) - USA

Looks like Vodafone uses 4G bands 28, 3 and 7 which are covered by both models. And Spark also uses band 17(700) which is on all both models.

Which countries would using the US version reduce coverage?
