Midnote ICS was my daily driver, which I found to be the best ICS rom, until imilka's CM9 came out last week. Apart from not being able to play flash video, it's perfect.

I think mobicity is still the cheapest. Around $750.

Also, i noticed they've already got the gsiii on presale for $1139! Down from $1269 :D Pretty funny, they're using various pics from the rumour mills as the images.

Well, only a week away till we see what the real deal is!

Bought mine from handtec in UK last year for around $800NZD, but also got stung with customs tax of around $150! :(

Was still cheaper than the $1200 one at vodafone though.

Probably because Kies is a piece if crap. Try it on a different PC may work.

I have just read through the 14 pages of this thread as I am about to order my Note. Accessories are all sorted as per http://www.scottjpalmer.com/8069

I'm a bit fussy/OCD so probably won't root it, bring on the legit ICS!

Anyone know if I can install ICS without installing a custom ROM? With my Sensation I was able to simple update the firmware with the need of a ROM.

I am under the impression that because I have rooted I cannot install ICS when the OTA is released?

You won't be able to update the official way via Kies, but who cares, you'll get it earlier from XDA anyway and be able to flash it to the phone from recovery//Odin/Mobile Odin (in other words, don't worry about it, you'll get your official ICS when it hits and probably earlier than via official channels anyway).
