I brought a metal gold back cover, screen protector for my note 3 from eBay for $10 all up with free shipping. I got the package within a week n half.
However I wouldn't buy the knock off s view covers as they do not work. Seen plenty of YouTube clips about this.
Noel Leming has the official covers for $59. I wonder if there's a special on this weekend?

Get a tempered glass screen protector, They're heaps better and stop your screen from cracking if you dropped it

I think the knockoff S-view cover thing is only for the Note 3 because it has contacts under the battery cover, And I would love an s-view cover for my s4, but they dont protect the sides which means it wont provide much protection if you drop it (new screens are EXPENSIVE!)

I got one yesterday from NL @ $959.2, which is 20% off all Samsung products as part of their long weekend special! Great product and great price! I couldn't be happier as I am even able to put it on 30 months interest free!

Today spent most of the day trying to find the Samsung S View Cover for Note 3 but it does not seem to be in bulk stock at the moment; NL sold out all the covers and couldn't advise when to expect the next shipment.

After being an iPhone user for over 4 years now (3GS, 4 and 5), it's time for a change

BTW the deal is still on until the end of next Monday, if anyone here is interested :)

The latest software for NZ ones on Vodafone (VNZ) Telecom (TNZ) or 2degrees (NZC) is

N9005XXUBMJ1

You can check your firmware version by dialing *#1234#

I cannot say for parallel imports as who knows what model or CSC code they have.

LTE isn't an option in the network settings of my 2degrees one when at home but here in Oz with a local SIM LTE is all go, not locked out in the firmware as I assumed it was. Yussss!!

It's governed in Galaxy devices by the regional CSC file telling the phone what to enable/disable at first boot based on the mobile country code & mobile network code of the SIM, e.g. NZ's MCC is 530 & Vodafone's MNC is 01.

If you're using an international Note 3 (Or just aren't using a local software build) it won't have anything specifically enabled/disabled for NZ/NZ operators.

This customisation system can also tell the device whether to enable other features on both a country & network operator basis, which can range from network side business like HD Voice right down to an option to turn off the shutter sound in the camera software (Because some regions have regulations around concealed public photography). Gets quite interesting on some region-specific software revisions.

yup sorry - conditional flags on the sim is what i meant - not that the sim card actually has an LTE component on it... :)

I would much rather they stopped changing heaps of stuff on our devices though. Like an Australian S4 on Optus doesnt let you rearrange or change the icons on the bottom of the home screen (Phone,contacts,message,internet)

Anyone here interested in a group buy on the Seidio Surface case? They're about $30USD+shipping, but the shipping is a bit extortionate buying individually.

I'm happy to place order and pay up front etc, just wondering how many might be interested?

Here is the Seidio product page, however can be had for a few $ cheaper elsewhere so wouldn't be buying from Seidio direct, but just so you can get an idea of the case.

That Optus one is really a bit silly. I imagine it would have been some kind of executive decision based on an excessive number of customers calling in to say they'd misplaced the dialer & messaging apps.

Thankfully, Samsung's high end devices have been quite robust in unbranding department in the past - as long as the hardware revision matches, and even when it's a minor variant like the 'T' versions, they'll take most any region's software. Not that I'd professionally recommend doing that as it can & in some cases does lead to a less than ideal experience on local networks (Higher battery drain from modem software that's optimised for different frequencies, et cetera). :)

Picked up a cheap tpu case and screen protector on trademe until I decide which case to get. Had not seen that case before but looks good. Some of the Spigen cases look excellent especially the neo hybrid case.
