jamesjc25: Has anyone had any trouble with their one recognising their SIM card?
It started yesterday intermittently the phone says it cannot recognise the SIM card, once you reset the device it works again and connects to the Telecom network.

I thought it may have just been some network thing yesterday whilst I was in Auckland. But it did it all day yesterday and is still doing it today. I guess it could just be that my SIM had died? Although it's strange that it works again fine once the device is restarted.

sounds like the sim is dying

I haven't had any SIM card trouble, so I can't help you sorry. Might be worth factory resetting or waiting for 4.3 and seeing if that helps.

kawaii:
As for the experience using HTC Sync Manager on a Mac - working wonderfully and stable, and OS X even detects the Android phone so I can tether whilst I wait for the VDSL2 installation to take place next week on Monday.

Impressed that you managed to get HTC Sync Manager working on your Mac - it was a dog's breakfast for me.

I downloaded and use: Android File Transfer - www.android.com/filetransfer/

Much cleaner and simpler.

Htc one camera defect confirmed by htc

Any of you guys suffering from this?

http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/10/4716246/htc-one-camera-defect-confirmed-by-htc-working-on-a-fix

I've checked mine and my friend's and both suffer from this problem.
A lot of people on xda forum been complaining about his too.
Judging by the sheer number of people who have been affected by this, I can't be the only one in NZ?

This would be my fourth time exchanging the phone..

It turns out the One I received from Telecom for the blog series is afflicted with the problem mentioned in the Verge article. Sitting it down on a surface with the camera on results in a screen filled with pinkish purple noise.

I thought the pictures I took with my One were great, but after comparing with another unit it turns out they are rubbish. The difference is mind blowing. For the first time I'm actually disappointed with this phone.

Edit: fix Swype typos.

They took 3 months to acknowledge this issue.
Before then they've been saying it's normal for ultra pixels to have this red tint.
Since big tech sites started to bring up this issue, they became 'front up'

Crap, mine has this issue too. Didn't notice before but just did that put down on a table and although not as bad as the ones in the article where the whole screen goes purple, mind def gets a slight red tint to the screen.

And there have been plenty of other big phone/tech companies that have taken longer, or in some cases have never taken responsibility. I say good on HTC for taking responsibility.

FWIW, my One doesn't have this issue (though it DID go suspiciously red when I covered the camera lens with my finger lol)

I was running the 4.3 leak but it has a few issues so went back to 4.2.

I thought the latest Sense base rom was 3.10.502.2 but the one you linked was 3.17.401.2

It is a HTC test leak from Europe and the dev has posted this rom to install and has also posted the leaked dump you can use as well.  I'm on a VFNZ sim and this rom runs flawlessly for me.

Edited should note this link I posted to the devs MaximusHD did not use the new hboot as it that required soff  and other issues read that post for the details.   But I have had no issues with the newer rom
