No word, but at a guess i would say 3 to 6mths for 4.3, and 4.4 good luck :P

If you convert to GPe or are happy to flash a custom rom you can have 4.3 now and 4.4 most likely before the end of the year

4.3 with Sense 5.5 has just been released for the international One. Should see it on carriers here in the next month or so.

Here's a nice bonus bit of gDrive space (to go alongside the free Dropbox space), when we get the Sense upgrade to 5+

I don't understand how to redeem it

Just looked for it as well. But I only have Sense 5.0 not 5.0+, so I guess I'll have to wait for the next firmware update.

It will be available after the upgrade, just by opening the gDrive app and accepting the prompt.

It won't work on developer edition due to the unlocked bootloader, and so I guess it probably won't work if you've rooted your device and already have Sense 5.5.

Asides from that, it's just a matter of waiting.

How can I check to see if I can redeem the offer?

  1. Launch the preloaded Google Drive application on your device
  2. Press Redeem when presented with this screen
  3. Follow the screen prompts to complete redemption

If it is anything like the Dropbox free offers then it will be dependent on your particular rom having said app pre-installed which is different from downloading said app from Play store

Looking forward to this update - but mainly using Skydrive at the moment - and after the Surface 2 bonus I have quite some space there:

I also have lots of space on Dropbox anyway, mostly from Android stuff:

I am actually using the Skydrive more now that Windows 8.1 integration is more transparent - one less program (Dropbox) to load on startup too.

I'm also really exited about the update.  And quite frankly I'm really happy about the gdrive space.  Not only that but apparently the newest sense, is actually faster and has a way of turning off blink feed. Just wanted to make sure you know im still actively reading all the posts on here :)

Has anyone had an issues with Bluetooth? I've tried a number of times to connect my One to a speaker tower via Bluetooth but it won't connect. The phone can see the tower but when you try to connect it just brings up a cannot connect make sure the device is turned on message.

It can't be an issue with the speaker tower because we have successfully connected an iPhone, iPad, and Galaxy S4 to it.

Anyone had any similar issues/any suggestions?

I havent had that experience myself.

I bought a sony bluetooth speaker so I could listen to music via a better speaker in my office. Cant remember the exact one as I'm not at work but it worked first time and has been seemless ($400).

I had no brand preferences and walked into JBHi one lunch time setup spotify and connections to the 5 shop demo models of various manufacturers they had and just flicked between them to judge sound quality. Had no problems forming connections with any of them.

Gaaah - like an idiot, I never quite got around to buying a cover for my HTC One, and now it's fallen out of these ridiculous track pants and the screen is smashed.

Let this be a lesson to you all - unless you live inside a cotton-wool ball, get a cover!

It's not as bad as other phones I've smashed, no bits falling out (yet). However, I'm going to get it fixed for sure. Have replaced screens in the past, but I'm not game to try it with this phone.

Can anyone recommend a reliable place that can do this? I'm most worried about the place being reliable and of good quality - speed of repair is second on the list. I'm not too fussed if they aren't the cheapest, as long as they do it properly, and reasonably quickly.

I'm in Wellington, and it'd be great to be able to go somewhere local, but I'm fine with sending it away.

edit: not that it matters as this won't be a warranty claim, but the phone was purchased from JB HiFi in Aussie, still got the receipt.

Thanks.

I found this post on The Verge.  http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/31/5052342/every-htc-one-in-north-america-will-have-android-kitkat-within-90-days  At least this proves HTC is still working hard to bring the updates.
