Interesting, either it wasn't the phone update and was an update of an app through their update center, or your OTA update was an incremental patch and updating using Sony's PC companion downloads a whole new image.

Just stabbing in the dark because because I had an Sony app update which was quick, but the download of phone update took a least an hour or so on my home connection and the update process took a while as well.

Yeah I would be inclined to agree that it was a patch OTA just because it was so quick. It was definitely a system update, not an application update.

I had a notification of an updated the Album application at the same time which I did separately after the system one.

I just don't understand why this phone is so expensive in NZ!!
When Sony Canada is selling it on their website for $699CAD = $750NZD (with all three colours) and Sony AU is selling it for $759.00AUD = $820NZD.
Why is it soooo bloody expensive here!!!?

P.S According to Sony NZ their warranty may honour Sony Australia from what i can gather below. If this is the case then that is an immediate %20 savings if someone can bring it from AU.

Nice. Convert to NZD then get the AU GST refunded and that comes to about $650NZD. Sounds like a good deal.

I must say I am LOVING this phone, and taking a bit of getting used to after ditching my Samsung galaxy.  The Sony case is very very nice, just waiting on magnetic docking station to arrive.

I read there are free movies and app's in the Xperia Lounge but I can't find anything in the way of movies or much else.  The spiderman free game keeps crashing on me.

I'm guessing no free movies due to location?

Also since the Sony case is a flip case, do you think its worth sticking a protector cover on the front screen?

So glad I chose this over the S5

Actually if you want to know one big negative.

You can't move the app data onto the SD card.  Only items you can move are movies, photos etc from the Album, so storage is going to get tight unless they work around this somehow.

Anyone know if there is a way?

The only way I'm aware of at the moment is to root your phone.

I thought KitKat changed the way the permission to access the SD work, does AppMgr still work?

Is anyone else's Z2 unable to connect to their Wifi? Mine has what appears to be an ancient (from Gingerbread days) Android bug where it gets stuck in a loop trying to obtain an IP address.

From my research, it appears to be an incompatibility in settings between my phone and router but I'm unsure how to fix it. My router is a Telecom standard Technicolour TG582n so I wonder if there are others here with the same router and Vodafone Xperia Z2 with the same issue.

You can tell if you have the issue if you have the phone's Wifi turned on but the Wifi icon is not in the status bar (ie. it is using mobile internet) and in the Wifi menu it is looping "obtaining IP address" and eventually failing to connect.

Really keen for a fix, otherwise I am stuck on mobile internet. :(

No but I did have a problem where my phone was apparently clogging my internet by uploading constantly (no idea what it was uploading) meaning I got a lot of lag elsewhere. Looking at my orcon usagemeter didn't show the uploads but my meter on my router was showing it. Restarted the phone and haven't had the problem any more

I just can't get used to the loan Z2 I got. It's nice and fast, the hardware button for camera is a plus, but the lack of a physical home button and the size and shape of the Sony just do nothing much for me. Looks like I might end up with the M8. Still trying to decide if the S5 Prime is coming or not. Sound is good from the Sony I'll admit.
