I've ended up putting an order in in store as well as I'm suspecting the estore team will do exactly nothing about all my problems in having with them. The guys at the kiosk were nice but they don't offer the rewards points in store. Sadly I'm willing to forego $75 of rewards to just not have to talk to the online store again.

Samsung's own call centre and in store staff are all agreeing with me on how bad the situation with that team is. The kiosk staff said they've had a good few come in saying they've had enough of dealing with the email only store team and just wanted to talk to a person.

I found chat really excellent to deal with, they even gave me an extra discount.

Had a quick hands on today with both the S22 and the S22 Ultra with the fiancée.

I prefer the ultra more(fits well in my hands and also is literally no compromises) and my fiancée prefers the base S22 more(due to her enjoying more smaller phones and also it feels compact).

They're both great phones honestly in the hands.

mrgsm021: Sadly, i am likely to miss out on replacing my S20U this year since wifey has decided to replace her N9 with Z Fold3 5G, so no money for S22U, sigh....

You guys enjoy your pre-orders when available, I'll be cheering you on from the sideline with envy and drool 😭🤤

Have gone back on my own words, managed to scrape some funds and pre-ordered a burgundy 512GB S22U😁

Chat and the call centre staff have been great. It's just the estore team that is only contactable by email and are doing things to my orders and not responding to any emails about what it is they are doing. They've now cancelled two orders, well I say cancelled, one says it's processing but the hold on my card has been removed so I believe it's getting cancelled on that basis. Neither have emailed me to say it's been cancelled, they didn't respond to my email request apparently just actioned it presumably they assume I'll be monitoring my order status, which still says it's processing. Like I said Samsung's own staff are conceding the store team is just terrible to deal with. Happy for those who have had a seamless order journey and will get their devices, but if anything goes wrong it's just easier to walk away from the entire situation than deal with them. If any other phone ticked all the boxes I'm after I really wouldn't be buying a Samsung device after how bad that store team has been.

I would buy it in a heart beat if the pen was in body. I use the snote app all day for work and have a couple of thousand files in there. My other concern is long term dust ingress.

Oh yeah... when the Fold comes out with integrated SPen... that would be the ultimate device IMO

This is eerily similar to my experience this time around, besides the color. I'm getting the 512GB S22U in white 🙂

What do you mean? I have the Note 20 Ultra with Android 12 and it's working OK (Battery isn't coping quite s well but that's something different potentially). I'll be getting the S22 Ultra.

For anyone interested, someone did a charging test comparing s22u with a 25w charger and a 45w charger. https://youtu.be/y6-HtqbGdcw
The TLDR is 45w charger took 1hr 3min to charge to 100% while the 25w charger took 1hr 6min

That's kinda funny. I'd be interested to see if a few other tests from other people yielded the same results.

Seeing a lot of news overseas where Samsung shipping lot earlier than expected. Anyone here think that will apply to us as well?

I saw a review of the charger itself on YouTube that at best said it made a few minutes difference on 100% charging. Based on charge time graphs I saw on an article I think the difference maker with the extra power is the time to get to get the lower charge states. So half an hour gets you about 10% more battery on the bigger charger but the last 10-15% seemingly slows to a crawl and the 25W catches up.

Seems to be quick chargings purpose on Samsung devices is for top ups to survive the day more than rejuicing in full. If all you ever do is charge to 100% the 45W seems redundant to save a minute of two, but if you're someone that routinely charges for half an hour who has limited access to power sockets and just get what you can in that time the extra charger will mean more battery in that time frame. Similarly to EVs it's probably easier to just charge 20% to 80% repeatedly than going all the way to 100%.

Personally I'm rarely without power, I'm at home, in the office or in the car all of which have power on tap with quick charging for a top up so getting the bigger S22+ I'm hoping to adapt to hover in the 20-80 range as much as I can. I've been fine with 18w on my pixel 3xl and will likely be mostly using 15w wireless charging as it's easier.

Anyone have any ideas which of the 3 PBtech bundles for the ultra would have the best resale value?

It works out slightly better to take the Noel Leeming Deal with the Watch, $150 voucher and the $200 sign up bonus, but requires me to go to a store, which I can't right now, and also to pay the phone off over 2 years, which is fine, but just a hassle I'd prefer not to bother with.

Plus, in the past PBTech has always been pretty good if I'd had issues with my phone.
