HN called me as I was pulling into their driveway to see if they had forgotten me. Will be home and charging soon.

I am curious...for those that have received your precious and using eSIM on previous phones, are there any issues with reactivating eSIM on the new phone, specifically those that are with One NZ?

Oh happy days a shiny 512 Ultra was delivered today (2 Degrees)

Am I the only one who's opted for the yellow?

Migration was fairly painless, I have to say, all said and done in 35 minutes (other than the usual faffing with apps etc).

So far I am wholeheartedly underwhelmed. Other than the feel, I can barely tell any difference. The speakers are vastly improved, but it feels about as fast as before, and size and weight are unnoticeably different.

My change over was likely around $600 and it's probably worth over to me, but I could imagine a lot of people would find it not worthwhile.

I think I need a case for the first time ever. I've tolerated the camera bumps for a few years now, but I really noticed it heaps on the s23 and the S24 isn't better at all. I want something as thin and unnoticeable as humanly possible that simply masks the camera bumps so that when I am using it on a flat surface it's not constantly rocking.

Congrats. Keen to see yellow in the flesh!

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Interesting, so you have noticed an improvement in the speakers? My current S23U has really good speakers which was an upgrade over the S22U. I use speakers quite a bit for radio so that's a plus if I moved over to the S24U.

It is an underwhelming upgrade it seems so I'm not changing over until I get my S23U sold.

Keen to hear what else you find on your new shiny shiny.

Night photos are markedly improved.  As is colour preproduction.  And the Samsung Gallery generative stuff is pretty good to be fair.

I will when I take some worthy of sharing. I did think one of them was way over the top. Like it almost looked like early evening with lots of light, rather than the deep of night.

It made me wonder if we might hear later, like we did with moon photography, that they are using tech to fake parts of the image. Possibly their new generative stuff. It just seemed like it was showing me something that obviously was not real.

The worst thing is not the migration itself. Is having to login to all the apps again.

You aren't wrong!. I have 4 MFA apps and they can't be transferred automatically (except ms one which was awesome). All in all it usually takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to get a new phone properly setup.
