Output current of only 200mA - surely that'll mean a pretty slow charge? My car charger (which I got on trademe) is 1000mA - same rating as the mains adaptor that came with the Desire. Standard USB is 500mA. 200mA seems too low - do you find it charges at a pretty good rate, or does it seem like a slow charger?

Over 1/3 of my life is spent in front of my HP dx7 Quad Core 2.1GHz|4GB laptop.
A few hours a day in front of my HTC Desire.
My day job: I do asp.net web development for NetPotential.

I use it to run the phone when its in the car, listening to music, GPS etc. I havnt actually timed it to see how long it takes to charge the phone

Works a treat with the Desire, and nice to have going foward since everyone is now going to use micro USB (go the EU and forcing standards on companies for the consumer good!).

Regards USB charging - could be a 64bit Windows 7 problem. I see a few reports of HTC Sync problems with 64bit Windows...

I have no such problems and I use win 7 64bit.

The problem with HTC sync is that it continuously spawns file handles and it eats up memory and makes the mouse pointer show the busy icon every four seconds, bloody annoying and very poor programming. The only cure at the moment is to suspend the task, or sync via wifi and google.

HTC are embarrasing themselves with such a crap piece of software.

BTW, the Warehouse has micro USB wall chargers for $29. Dick Smiths are $40. A Micro USB cable is $5 - $10 + use existing usb charger.

The harvey normans deal looks great tho.

You sure about that? I swear my UK charger says 0.2A...

This might be useful to others here...

I have had on a couple of occasions instances where the phone can no longer "see" the microSD card, and previously nothing short of reinserting the card and rebooting the phone fixed it.

I thought it may be to do with having a 32GB card, but I see others reporting the same problem sporadically with cards of varying capacities. An XDA a user gave this solution - get "SDMount" widget free from the Marketplace, unmount the card in settings, then just click on the widget icon and your card is remounted. Worked for me today (second time I had this problem).

200mA? and 0.2A are the same thing..

He means the UK charger, and its not 200mA its actually 1A.

Yeah, its not a 32Gb problem, probably a Sense problem since its sporadic, possibly an OS-level problem.

Rightly oh.. so Im playing with my new desires. It doesn't want to send txts am I supposed to set something up, I'm on prepay and have toped up, I can receive txts.and can call people. Help please :)
