I'm confused - is there evidence or an article anywhere that mentions the June update will activate 5G/VoLTE/VoWiFi, or is this based on the beta enabling it?

I wouldn't and don't want to put my hopes up too much but I'd LOVE to be wrong lol

It is the Beta that enables 5G. I would say the June update is most likely not to.

I have just tested calling on 4G and can confirm it stays on 4G for the call and does not fall back to H+. However, I have just changed to a fancy new 2Degrees eSim so maybe that helps (though it probably shouldn't change anything)

I can't find the article because reddit is mostly blacked out atm in protest, but I'm fairly sure it was the June feature update that has an updated modem among other things that also enables 5G for NZ

Just updated to June update and confirm that it says 5G connection in the status bar.

Not sure if that's actually 5G though as when I put in *#*#4636#*#* and look phone info data connection says LTE

Speed test says 597 down and 33 up on One NZ. No VoWifi though

Update installed on P7 and 5G now reported on VF.

P6 on 2deg is not reporting 5G and while it states 4g calling is available, it still appears to be dropping back to 3g at the moment despite now showing 2degrees operator settings.

Does VF have VoWiFi/WiFi Calling, and if so, does it also work?

    • VoLTE - Works OOB
    • VoWIFI - Requires Pixel IMS patcher
    • 5G - June Update
    • eSIM - Works!
  • VF/One NZ

    • VoLTE - Works OOB
    • WoWIFI - Requires Pixel IMS patcher
    • 5G - June Update
    • eSIM - ?????
  • 2 Degrees

    • VoLTE - Works OOB (or may need Pixel IMS patcher - someone please confirm)
    • voWIFi - Requires Pixel IMS patcher
    • 5G - May need Pixel IMS patcher + setting IMS manually + June Update
    • eSIM - Works!
  • Others

    • ???????

For those of you who can't get WoWiFi or to get VoLTE - you need PixelIMS - a patcher

https://github.com/kyujin-cho/pixel-volte-patch/ (You don't need root or what-so-ever)

To Configure IMS Profile, please google this bit - follow the instructions here

https://github.com/kyujin-cho/pixel-volte-patch/issues/136

Once you have added, you wouldn't see but suddenly your 5G/VoWifi should work after patching with PixelIMS :)

Can you try using Pixel IMS patcher and see if you can get VoWiFi to work with 2 Degrees.

I can confirm, 5G is working with the latest release although VoLTE was for me, already enabled from previous (Mar/Apr?) update.

Using P7Pro Japan region.

Pixel 7 on Spark e-sim. June feature update installed. Volte calling but still no 5G. I live in a 5G area and can't get 5G anywhere. Don't think it's the e-sim as I couldn't get 5G on the physical sim either. I'm assuming from what I see here that 5G is available without loading the patch? Any suggestions?
