SumnerBoy: What are the new bits we should be looking out for this release? Anything really whizz bang?!

Nothing leaps out. There are a few camera/gallery tweaks and something called image matching. 'Improvements' to HTC synch which announced itself by prompting me for driver updates on my windows 7 PC. Other than that security updates from 4.4.4 have been rolled into it.
Because I use Apex Launcher instead of Blinkfeed, and have tweaked things with Xposed modules, my experience may differ from stock unrooted.

Too early to comment on any performance improvements.

The big one will be Android L late this year early next.

Yep, I have a HTC One M7 originally from Spark and was just offered the update. Installed.

Would be great if Vodafone would come forward and say why those on their network don't have this update yet, and when we can expect it.

The update was pushed forward faster for 2D I bet so they could enable 4G.

Also if you're desperate to get the update, why not hard reset the phone with a 2D sim in

Because the update rollout is not based on the SIM card, for one.

It's all the same firmware

Yes but the phones have different CIDs (Carrier IDs) - your CID and MID (Model ID) are used to determine whether you get a given firmware update.

My HTC One is Telecom originally, hard reset with a 2D Sim and I have had the update...

The CID is generic

Sigh. Telecom users have the update, that's why you've got it. You have the Telecom CID. The 2D M7s have a different CID to Telecom and 2D, but they also have received the update. Check your CID - Mine is VODAP021. I guarantee you that yours is different to mine.

Trust me, it's NOT the sim card, it's based on the CID. I could change the CID on mine and get it the update, then change my CID back but again, I'm not THAT desperate for the update.

Ah, I had my CID supercid from day one and have had the device a long time, I forgot.  It seemed like I was the first one to get the update a few weeks ago, so perhaps everyone is best to go supercid...

That could explain it, lol! :) I'm still toying with having a go at a GPE conversion...can't decide though, and considering that I'm still on stock nearly 18 months after I bought it (that's some kind of record for me!!!) it does show how well HTC have done with their ROM in getting out of the way of Android, as well as their update cadence.

I was on GPe for about a year, but it's low in features and can feel a bit boring after a while since it's so simple.

I'll probably move back when Android L is released for GPe, then move to Sense Android L when that is finally released.

They kind of have. Well on the VF AU site they have delayed it because of a bug. They don't provide an ETA though. So I can only surmise that they treat AU/NZ the same for VF.

Battery life does seem better, hopefully not just placebo. 9 hours of normal use 25% used. By this stage I would normally have used 40ish%.

Yeah...I want to hear it from VF NZ. Sure, it's tested in the same place/together, but how about a bit of respect for their local customers...no word of updates, no word (locally) that it's been delayed, and nothing on when it's expected to be resolved either. Also no word on what the bug actually was...

Not good enough, IMNSHO.
