macuser: The update was pushed forward faster for 2D I bet so they could enable 4G.
Also if you're desperate to get the update, why not hard reset the phone with a 2D sim in

Because the update rollout is not based on the SIM card, for one.

It's all the same firmware

Yes but the phones have different CIDs (Carrier IDs) - your CID and MID (Model ID) are used to determine whether you get a given firmware update.

My HTC One is Telecom originally, hard reset with a 2D Sim and I have had the update...
The CID is generic

Sigh. Telecom users have the update, that's why you've got it. You have the Telecom CID. The 2D M7s have a different CID to Telecom and 2D, but they also have received the update. Check your CID - Mine is VODAP021. I guarantee you that yours is different to mine.
Trust me, it's NOT the sim card, it's based on the CID. I could change the CID on mine and get it the update, then change my CID back but again, I'm not THAT desperate for the update.
macuser: Ah, I had my CID supercid from day one and have had the device a long time, I forgot. It seemed like I was the first one to get the update a few weeks ago, so perhaps everyone is best to go supercid...

That could explain it, lol! :) I'm still toying with having a go at a GPE conversion...can't decide though, and considering that I'm still on stock nearly 18 months after I bought it (that's some kind of record for me!!!) it does show how well HTC have done with their ROM in getting out of the way of Android, as well as their update cadence.
markl: Would be great if Vodafone would come forward and say why those on their network don't have this update yet, and when we can expect it.

They kind of have. Well on the VF AU site they have delayed it because of a bug. They don't provide an ETA though. So I can only surmise that they treat AU/NZ the same for VF.
