@markl: Where can I find my phone's CID?

Thanks.

They kind of have. Well on the VF AU site they have delayed it because of a bug. They don't provide an ETA though. So I can only surmise that they treat AU/NZ the same for VF.

Yeah...I want to hear it from VF NZ. Sure, it's tested in the same place/together, but how about a bit of respect for their local customers...no word of updates, no word (locally) that it's been delayed, and nothing on when it's expected to be resolved either. Also no word on what the bug actually was...

Not good enough, IMNSHO.

Hey there,

Once we've issued network approval for a software update, we don't hear anything more until it's rolled out, as it goes back to the manufacturer for release on their schedule. The 4.4.3 update for the M7 was approved some time ago (18th of August - build 6.11.980.7) and a slightly later build was approved on Monday (6.11.980.9), so presumably whatever was identified by Voda AU has been corrected.

I've asked the Terminals team if they have any further information on the nature of the delay and the anticipated drop of the OTA, but I would expect there's not much more they can provide as the hold-up is not at this end, and the release is always at the manufacturer's discretion. Hope that helps. :)

Might need to contact HTC and make sure it hasn't fallen down the back of the server! ;-)
The Spark update didn't come through until last evening, because I did check during the day. So maybe the VF one is just in the server queue.

Edit: Thanks NikT for updating.

Weird... I've had 'no new updates' for ages then after reading all this tried a second and then third time in 10 minutes then there it goes... 4.4.3

I am in Australia now, but that shouldn't make any difference to my telecom/spark phone.

Oh well.. now I'm in the club

Hey guys,  sorry I haven't replied in a while.   Anyways,  I ran CyanogenMod installer on my HTC One, and the usb connection went half way through, luckily the phone rebooted and is working.   However it does say the bootloader is unlocked, however updates will not install and I don't have a recovery on here.
Oh and the calculator, flash light and a few other random apps have disappeared.   Making me think the installer did some serious damage.

I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on either restoring the default firmware or help me put cyanogenmod on here.

I know nothing about this and I thought Cyanogenmod installer was the best way to go, obviously not.

Thanks in advance guys :)

The apps you have lost disappear when the bootloader is unlocked via htcdev.com.
You must have a stock recovery installed if you are trying to do an OTA update of the stock rom. It is installed from the adb using fastboot. Any recovery can be installed this way. You say you have no recovery, what happens when you try to boot into recovery?
Apks for the missing apps are available from xda-developerrs.
Any custom roms I have installed have always been via a custom recovery such as twrp or cwm. It looks like cyanogenmod installer unlocks your bootloader as part of its preparation of your device to install CM. By the looks of their site CM provide the installer as a 'one stop shop' to get CM on your device. I would suggest their faqs and forums may bear more fruit than here.

Thank you, When I try boot into recovery it shows a red exclamation mark for about 5-10minutes and then proceeds to reboot.  Same thing happens when I install the OTA update.

I tried posting on CM forums, and have still no response.

So your phone actually works but you can't get an OTA of CM, is that the case? The CM wiki says that you have to manually install a recovery, so that may be why you can't access it. The wiki also says that only stable releases will be updated via OTA. It is difficult to know exactly what state your phone is in to even determine how to get it back to stock if that is what you want. So i am reluctant to offer a specific solution in case you end up with a brick. The other place to try is the Q&A section of the HTC One on XDA. I have found them a great resource for problems in the past.

Just checked for OS update on my 'Vodafone' M7, running with Spark, and it now appears to be downloading 4.4.3.

Edit: And done - took exactly 30 mins. Not sure what visual changes I will see, if any.

I downloaded 4.4.3 (Vodafone)

On trying to install it, it dropped into a bootscreen (?Root) which I have never seen before and have never fiddled with ROMs or anything like this.
Only variable thing is I was in Sonos beta pogram and it asked me to allow to install it from their link rather than google app shop.

First line had **** TAMPERED ****
then             *** LOCKED ***
then             *** Security Warning ***
then             M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
then             HBOOT-1.57 0000
then            RADIO-AT.27.3218.14
then            OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
then            OS-5.11.980.9
then            eMMc-boot 2048 MB
then            April 23 2014, 15:33:47.0

then FASTBOOT highlighted and options for BOOTLOADER, REBOOT, REBOOT BOOTLOADER, POWER DOWN.

?what now...

Will the phone reboot if you select reboot (using volume rocker as an up/down cursor and then selecting using the power button) or are you stuck in the bootloader screen?

Yes it reboots fine back into 4.4.2 then I get the popup asking if I want to install, I say yes and it reboots back into the screen above.
Phone works with 4.4.2 just cant get any further.

Power down works, and phone reboots into 4.4.2.
Bootloader gives me lots of options which other than manufacturer reset I have no idea what they mean.

(if it didnt work/reboot I would have used the manufacturer reset and accepted loss data file as I am on call this weekend so need the phone working)

Plus side is the phone does work fine in 4.4.2.

Is this the first OTA you have done since getting the phone? It seems to be running stock, but it is interesting that it is showing a tampered flag. You would have run into an OTA problem previously if you had a non-stock recovery and that is why I ask.
I wonder if the OTA download may have been corrupted. I think it is in your downloads folder until you complete the update so you may be able to delete it and redownload it (search it online first maybe).
As someone who also is on call occasionally I believe you are wise to not stick your neck out too far. I'm glad your phone is still usable.

From my experience the 4.4.3 update is pretty minor, you are not missing much by waiting.
