MattEast: I got mine from PBTech, not sure if they have a full range yet

Looks like they only have the Armour version on their list, and have none in stock in any branch :(

Was hoping to pick up the Slim Fit ones -they're not even on trademe, which is a bit of a surprise.

If you sign up to NZPost YouShop, Amazon will send there & then YouShop to NZ. Will cost you approx $18 NZD to get the case here. Takes approx 2 weeks.

After reading so much about the phone including videos I finally had a chance to play with one. Well I was able to pick it up and look at the display (Noel Leeming) but couldn't do much else as apparently a customer had locked the phone with a fingerprint or pin number and the sales guy didn't have the codes to unlock it!

It feels very nice and not too large and I might upgrade my N5.Nice solid and svelte construction.

I thought I woul get the US version since I will be over there soon and even with local sales tax the 32GB model will be about NZ$820. That's a pretty good savings.

I know I will lose band 28 (700Mhz) LTE but is that such a big deal ( will probably be on Vodafone).

LTE is currently Band 3 in NZ which the phone supports. I presume that's not going away any time soon (well in the next two years when it will be time to think about a new phone again). Primary use in Wellington CBD and burbs.

Not sure I care if I don't have LTE everywhere since I usually don't have enough data anyway :-)

networkn: So, what are peoples thoughts at this point, was this a worth while phone to buy? What did you have before? What are the key bad points? Considering replacing my Galaxy S6 Edge which I cracked the screen of.

I upgraded from my Galaxy S5 which I loved but found too slow and kept running out of memory with a *cough* mere 450 apps installed.

So far the Nexus 6P is a dream to use. It's so smooth and responsive. I love the extra screen size.

The finger scanner is awesome. I thought it was going to be a bit gimicky but within an hour I stopped using the pattern lock and have been using the finger print scanner since.

Fast charging is awesome but agree with the frustration of lack of decent low cost USB-C cables.

Front facing speakers are very good and make streaming movies fairly enjoyable.

I am looking forward to being first in line for Android releases.

Downsides for me:

* I find it annoying that it's hard to tell when the volume down button ends & the volume up button starts. It would be nice to have a clearer tactile indication. Often I've mistaken the volume buttons as a single button and tried to use the power button as volume up. Sigh.

* As much as I disliked Samsung extras bloat there are things about the Touch Wiz interface I definitely miss. Accessing the android settings was much easier on my S5. Trying to do something as simple as adjust the volume on screen is a PITA on the 6P and the settings icons are so generic I have to keep looking to make sure I'm hitting the right one.

These are very minor quibbles.

Band 28 has been a big factor for me. In Tauranga, Spark only does B28 4g, Vodafone has both & 2 Deg only 3.
This phone will be with me for a while, & I wanted to not be hamstrung in any areas of NZ that has 4g, without being able to get it on either band.

Is anyone having issues with the 'OK Google' detection?

I've set it up so that I can give a command while my phone is locked (eg, 'OK Google, call Bob on speaker', phone unlocks and calls Bob and puts him on speaker).

Problem here is, to get the detection to work while the phone is locked, I needed to change the primary language to US. By doing this, I think every time I turn on my location settings or after some time, it changes my default language to English (AU), which then stops the detection while locked. I would then need to reset it and retrain my voice.

Not only this, if I ask to turn on Bluetooth or Spotify while locked, the detection gets stuck on a loading screen and doesn't go any further. But then it would work for calling, sending a message, opening Youtube.

Wierd!! I just received two Spigen cases (one black armoured and one hybrid air crystal clear) that I ordered through Amazon (but sold by Spigen) - total cost of NZD47 for both. I did it direct and not through my YouShop account. I have just been back to check my order and when I try to reorder as a test, it will not let me ship to NZ!!

As an aside Aaroona - I have the crystal clear "ultra hybrid" that I can sell you if you want it - PM me. I ordered both to check which I prefered on my graphite 6p and the black wins for me - so the other is going spare (only been on the phone once to see how it looked and then straight back in the package)!

I think I can live with Band 3 only for the next couple of years. Apart from not having Band the only other downside I can see is potential warranty returns should they be necessary. Worth the risk I think for the savings.

Thanks, appreciate the offer, but really wanting to get the Slim Fit case :) I really liked it on my Samsung S6 Edge+, so would like to stick with that. (also love the sleek, black look).

I've sent an email off to Spigen to see if they can find a way to ship to me. Failing that, it looks like I'll need to use YouShop (I try to avoid them after I got stung with ridiculous charges for my last package).

You're trying to ship to NZ right? Spigen have always shipped to me here since I started using them years ago (from the Spigen website). My case and screen protector for my 6P arrived direct from them last week as well...
