aerir:

I took the plunge again and ordered from Amazon US + YouShop.

This is the total charge, adds up total about ~NZD1070.

Interested to see if anyone here used Shipitto service, will update again once I have receive the parcel.

It's great Youshop didn't you grief about batteries.  At the moment Amazon doesn't have any Pro's so I might wait until next year since my Pixel 4XL is going fine.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Looks like Mighty Ape are releasing the Pixel 6 on the 12th November (8/128 version in the 3 colours).  It is tempting.....but still overpriced I think.

Those prices though. Dick Smith, a subsidiary of Kogan, is selling the phone for 1200, while MightyApe, also a subsidiary of Kogan, is selling the phone for $1400. What?

I hope that nobody buys it from MightyApe because the price is a scam. Also, the fact that they're advertising the phone as '5G', when we know that it won't actually work with 5G, is borderline false advertising.

So I sent a screenshot of the Dicksmith prices for the 6 Pro and mightyape agreed to price match. They said I would only be charged the 1499 for the 6 Pro when it's shipped on the 28th of November.

I really hope people don't annoy mightyape about the 5g capabilities and make them think twice about shipping the pixel 6 pros for those of us who have ordered

wow, i didnt know they price matched. That’s good for anyone that wanted a colour other than black (me) but didn’t want to pay extra. Now I’m tempted. The only thing holding me back is worrying about no VoLTE.

Sorry I can't find the Pro on Mighty Ape. Did they remove it again?

Not sure why some people are being such **cks about mighty ape. If you don't like what they are selling then don't buy from them. Coming up with this whole "we are the people's champion and want to fight for people's rights" and "false advertisements " and etc is a all BS to get a freebie phone out of it.

Simple , you don't like what you see then don't buy it.

Yea it's sold out. Think they take it down till they can guarantee stock. The pixel 6 listing was taken down for a few days before they re listed it again

it’s not unreasonable to think it’s bad to advertise a feature that won’t work

Did they have 512gb pro versions? I can't seem to find anyone selling that variant locally.

What.

I don't want a free phone. I want them to advertise what's accurate. Congratulations on missing the entire point and some of the users concerns when it came to purchasing the Pixel 6 and any other Pixel phones where 5G applies.

I know you're aiming at me and I wasn't being whatever-explicit-FUG-breaking-word you're using but this comes off as if you didn't read at all.

Here are all of the listings from MA and you'll note that they all specify 5G.

https://www.mightyape.co.nz/search?q=pixel%205g&page=1

If you click on any of them you'll find pretty clear descriptions of them advertising 5G there.

Here are notable examples of Pixel phones with 5G not working.

https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=289813&page_no=14#2804726 <--- and the reason why it doesn't in this very thread.

This isn't an argument about people's rights this is just asking a company to not falsely advertise and then claiming that it should work when given examples that it actually doesn't work.

They should price match dick Smith as Kogan own them all anyway. I never really understood how Kogan and dick Smith have different prices for identical products, from identical warehouses on two branded websites. When it comes to importing you'd hope might ape would just also match as they are probably now shipping from their Kogan warehouses in Oz.

I wasnt referring to anyone specific at all, i cant be bothered going back in the thread but im pretty sure i read someone saying "i might get a free phone" or something similar.

Regardless, i do not see this as false adveritsing at all. They are selling a 5G "Capable" phone - Keyword being Capable. They dont state in their ad that it will work with NZ carriers, but they are not obligated to and i dont see what they are doing wrong here. a retailer cant test every single device they import with ever carrier in  NZ, that would be a massive waste of time.

Now, if someone contacts mighty ape and asks them does this phone work with 5g with NZ carriers, and they still say yes it does, then you have every right to go after them. but right now i cant see any fault with Might ape.

Also, all of this is needs a massive IMO disclaimer - this is all my personal opinion, you might think differently and i fully appreciate that.

Have a great weekend :)

Hey guys,

Have got hold of a Pixel 6 Pro that I've sadly found a little too big, I thought I would've made do but it's just a little too cumbersome.

Based in Auckland so drop me a line if anyone's interested!
