So, I have had my S25u for about a week now.

To be honest, other than it being nicer in the hand to hold with softer corners, a slightly flatter screen, I have barely noticed the difference. Yeah, I probably got to bed with an extra 10% battery, but if it's charging when you sleep, it's hardly a big deal.

It's a bit faster, I will admit.

I don't love the change of having the pull down blind do different things depending on where you pull it down. I preferred the old way.

You can change the behaviour of pulling down the blind back to what you're used to.

For me, there's quite a difference from the old S22 Ultra. So far I'm quite happy with it.

I upgraded from the S23 to the S25 and everything about the phone feels similar, just faster and nicer. The OneUI 7 and Android 15 changes are nice, but not ground breaking. I'm trying to stick with the Samsung recommended apps for now, while I get a feel for the changes. I usually use Nova launcher and Swiftkey keyboard, but tried to stick with the Samsung launcher and keyboard for as long as possible - I'm now back on Swiftkey, but the Samsung launcher has been fine. I also tried to stick with the new way of pulling down the notification tray, but switched back to having both combined in a single panel.

The first morning I had the phone, it woke me up at 7am shouting out the current weather and the morning news report! No idea how that got turned on - but I think it was some kind of default Bixby thing that's tied to the sleep hours you set.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the upgrade, especially for the roughly $300 it cost me (with the trade-in and coupon stacking).

Nice update, thanks

Looking forward to getting mine, had a Fold 4 and 5 for the last few years and never owned a Ultra before.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on the S25 before the pre-order finishes today. Anyone got and of the $20 for $100 off codes or any other discount codes that they aren't going to use?

i've noticed the now brief thing is slowly getting more useful as the days go by, reminded me of my alarms i had coming up last night, and my restaurant reservation tonight which i made via chrome and gmail, not involving samsung calendar or apps at all .. so thats good, as i only stick to the core google apps

That's the limitation I guess - "core Google apps"

I've used Outlook/hotmail since forever and hence all my data is with Outlook - contacts, calendars etc. As a result, I cant even ask Google when my next appointment is as it doesn't read the other account on my phone. same with the Nest mini.

Edit: I don't think its core Google Apps you have to use, but rather the Google account.

I have my Fastmail account syncing to my phone, and my calendar appointments show up in the "Brief" thing. So I don't think it's just related to your Google Account.

That's a good deal.  Which coupons did you use?

I had the $100 presale voucher, plus I paid the $20 reservation fee which got me a $150 voucher, and then the EPP store was offering 25% off, and then I traded in my S23 and got an extra $100 trade-in boost. :-)

That's kind being stuck in limbo, I think if you use an android phone you should probably go all in on Gmail.  IPhone I guess you go with whatever it is they use ... else your missing out of a ton of stuff.  I mean for ages now if I book to see a movie, or book a flight ...or basically any event that confirms via a email ...boom, its in my calendar,  its in my Google pay wallet..with out me doing anything. And yeh like you say same deal with gemini unless a Hotmail extension comes along , similar to what samsung have added here..
