I had to boot into windows to update mine - Mac Kies tells me that it doesnt support my phone (despite it being Samsung's current flagship phone!).

Fair point - the note could be considered their flagship phone, but the S3 hasnt been released, so shouldnt really count. Flagship is a little bit of a subjective term, but you get my point - its one of their top-end phones, has been on the market for over 12 months (international), and still isnt supported by their own software

No it isn't officially getting it.

There may be a new gingerbread version with a few extras like face unlock.

Otherwise go with a custom rom.

Cheers I have a Galaxy Ace myself which will probably need to go with custom rom, but was just wondering if they were going to support the Galaxy One in this upgrade as a friend has one.

Someone just posted in another thread that there is a 2Degrees-specific firmware update for the S2. Is this true? Is there any difference from the Telecom one that came out recently?

Telecoms phone is actually a different model altogether. It is a GT-I9100T, where as 2degrees and Vodafones are GT-I9100

I think you can still flash the other roms but I'd say telecoms will give you the best signal as the modem is specifically for Telecom.

I'm actually on 2Degrees. I had poor signal when I originally flashed ICS in March, but the Telecom firmware upgrade improved things dramatically. So if there is a 2Degrees-specific upgrade, I guess I don't really need to use it.

I don't believe that there is a specific firmware for 2degrees. As far as I'm aware they use a generic firmware, possibly the XEU (generic Western Europe) variant.

If any of you have a phone you're bought directly from 2degrees, dial *#1234#and report what it says your CSC version is. That will indicate id the firmware is specific to 2degrees or if it's generic.
