The LG PC Suite or LGMobile Support Tool progs will do the update (in theory!!). Your documentation describes how to install these and the USB drivers.

mattRSK: I currently have the P500h and I was unaware that there was an update. Currently running Android 2.2.1. Can someone explain where the update comes from. Is it on the Telecom website?

LG has a tool you download and it installs the update, Its on the LG website

I recently updated my P500H to Gingerbread, found the LG updater to be rubbish and couldn't get it to work.

Just download the firmware version for your phone here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/firmware-Lg+Optimus+One-Tutti-4.html (I used V20D, there seems to be a newer one now)

And just follow the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875881 easy as pie.

Let's know how it goes. Which network are you on?

My P500H (XT network) has been shipped off for fixing. Hopefully, under warranty.

The stock Gingerbread ROM is still pretty average, I really recommend Cyanogenmod or similar...

I'm running ICS on mine, it's *almost* perfect :)

I have been looking at ICS.
Which ICS are you running?
You say almost perfect, what is wrong with it?

5011:
I haven't done the update to 2.3.4 yet.

I'm on vodafone, firmware 2.3.3    ~ is there a 2.3.4 for the LG P500?
If so, what's changed?

Using this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614420

wifi tethering doesn't work without an app, but works fine once you have one installed. Camera doesn't do panorama, youtube lags a bit in high quality mode, and the FM radio doesn't work. Apart from that, no problems for me whatsoever.

THanks for that.
Did you try the other ICS roms?

No, but I have heard good things about the AOKP build on XDA. Actually I might give that a go later this evening :)

Forgot to add: If you're still running 2.2 you'll have to update to 2.3 first, the basebands are different and new roms don't work with the old baseband

Over the weekend I put on the AOKP build (ics).  Very impressed.

As an aside, my back button has stopped working.  I have now reprogrammed the search button to be the back button.
