is it worth getting a S2 or Note right now or waiting until the S3 is released?

Got my note two weeks ago from einfo.co.nz and sold my galaxy s2 last week. Any screen smaller than note is too darn small for me

The S2 today @ Bond n Bond for $599 is ok, It probably wont get much cheaper than that for another couple of months at least.

It's interesting that these are being sold at about half the price of a year ago. Seems there must be a 100% markup going on here and I suspect it's Samsung that's taking the hit not the retailer in this case. Fire saling the older model before the new one hits the tracks May 29th..

They had only 150 at that price, across the country (less than a dozen of those were in Christchurch) VF  (firmware branded) units apparently.
Still cheaper than you'd get one at any Parallel importer... But don't know if you'll see that become the new list price for a long while yet.  The S-II is still a premium unit.

I reckon the cheapest price will stabilise at about $600-650 soon for next 6 months or so, with the occasional lower special offer,  judging by these recent special offers and the Pricespy price history graph.

I reckon if price follows the same trend, then the lowest price of the i9100 is likely to be the price it is now ($600) and maybe a slightly lower price in the Christmas sales (?$500)

After subsidy I paid $697 plus I got a $50 jb hifi voucher so I don't stand to lose too much which is good. Another sound reason for locking into a plan as the subsidy covers the lions share of the depreciation
