Yep, all in the Root guide linked to above!

Also, did everyone realise you can set up your own custom vibration alert patterns and assign them per-app?

Also, another hidden-away setting in Languages and Keyboards in settings is the voice control for apps settings. That lets you do various things like say "snooze" to snooze your alarm, or capture to take a shot with the camera etc...

OK thanks. Havent read it yet as I dont have my phone yet :(

I'm sure I saw somewhere an option to automatically increase the ringtone volumes when it detects it's in your pocket or handbag.

I can't find it anywhere now... maybe I just imagined it :(

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

Yes there is such an option.

Go to your phone dial pad > press menu key > call settings > tick "increase volume in pocket"

Ah that's the sneaky little bugger, thanks for that.

Of course, it's awesome (Apt-X for the win!).

Another tip for you folks: the app Light Flow. Full control over your LED notification light - per app colour and pulse settings, 18 colours on offer even before you get to adding custom ones!

Dumb question (first time Android ownerFoot in Mouth ) I shut the phone down so emails wouldn't wake me up but the alarm didn't go off...grrr

Can I leave it on but quickly change the profile (like on my old BB) so the emails and txts are silent?

You can also go to Accounts and synch and turn synch off during the night. No point using up battery anyway while you are asleep.

I cant find this setting?

Also... if you untick a thing, say google calendar, and I hit sync all does it sync every account or just the ones that are ticked?

Settings -> scroll down and look under "Personal" for "Accounts and synch".

When you synch it only synchs the ticked services under each account.
