Dingbatt: And just be aware that Telecom's speed at providing android firmware updates is glacial by comparison to the other providers.

nickb99: Hey all

Am tempted to buy this phone today from Warehouse Stationary as they tell me they will price match to a good cheap Akl store I found.  Only prob is that its a Telecom phone and I want to run it on 2 degrees. Anyone foresee any hassle?

Thx in advance for any advice, N

If the phone can't do 3G on 900MHz then you'd be limited to 3G on 2100MHz only. Around Auckland, that is definitely survivable. I've been running a "Telecom" phone like that for several months. You have GSM  -so you can make and receive alls without issues. The only issue is where you're able to get 3G data via UMTS...and that would be in 2Degrees' 2100MHz coverage areas. Outside their coverage areas they use Vodafone's 2100MHz and 900MHz for data (and it costs a LOT more).

So the short answer is: Yes it will work everywhere as a phone,  but only in limited areas for 3G data.
