The nice lady from snapper called me and she has informed me that they can't see, or add the passes to my snapper, and I will have to go back to the 2degrees store and maybe they can help me out.

I had this experience too. I have since gone online to check my other registered sim/s and it shows no free weekend passes available as if they were never there to begin with.

At this point, I'd rather go back to a normal sim, that way I might be able to get the phone to connect to 3G after a restart without toggling flight mode on and off first.

2 degrees, *shakes finger menacingly* this should have gone smoother.

I don't want to go back to the store, and I am trying to avoid calling customer services as much as I can, but it seems that I will have to make another trip to the store.

Oh, so that's how to solve this problem I'm having, I restart my phone 2-3 times to get my H+ connection to work. Thanks for the tip. I have tried turning "Mobile Data" on and off but didn't work, so I will try using your method with flight mode.

About snapper, yes, the old snapper didn't show any passes on the snapper account page on their website, but did show on my mobile app, but now both are saying "No passes"

So are people having issues with Mobile Data using the Snapper SIM? I haven't experienced that yet

Using the old snapper SIM after the new update data was not working until I rebooted.

We can't confirm that the snapper sim causes this, but it's most likely the 2Degrees firmware, or network, something is not playing nice.

Went in and got my new SIM today. Took a few minutes to make sure it all worked. Data initially wouldn't connect, but I've had that problem before and just had to put it in / out of Flight Mode to fix it.

The dude did ask me if I wanted to transfer my balance across, but since all I had on there was an IOU I declined the offer :)

Then attempted to update, which failed. Probably due to me having a rooted phone. So I guess I'll have to update it at home via Kies, then re-root via Odin?

The update is only 20 MB and doesn't have anything to do with being rooted or not, and you don't really need Kies at all. Just go to the settings menu -> about device- > software update.

Hopefully by the time I get back to Wellington next week the stores will know the correct process.

If you folks are in Wellington, I am told someone 2degrees might be present in our upcoming Snapper event and will talk about new Touch2Pay handsets and go in-depth about why the Galaxy SIII required a new SIM...

In which case my device is a bit buggered, because I've tried the update three times now, and it's failed each time. I'm attempting to update via Kies, but it thinks I'm already on the latest version. Suggestions?

EDIT: Actually, made a new thread for my issue: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=107865
