Is it safe to buy from here, are they NZ based with stock in NZ?

Seem weird there is no mention of them in this thread as they are the cheapest, $599 for a 16GB model.

No they're not NZ based. It's the same as buying from any other overseas company but their stuff is in NZD.

See http://www.mobicity.co.nz/about/about-us.html

Also from their site:
Customs, Duties & GST
All orders under $400 and sent to New Zealand are exempt from GST and no further fees or charges are applicable. Orders over $400 are applicable for GST and collected at point of sale, along with a processing fee collected on behalf of New Zealand Customs. The GST and processing fee amounts will appear in the cart and on the product pages once the cart value passes $400.

Personally, I don't know anything about Top End Electronics.

Have used Einfo before, although the items are parallel imported they have good prices and an actual store you can visit.

Hmm. Tried ordering but order got cancelled the next day. Strange considering I ordered my Nexus 4 the same way. Ordered using ASB credit card (details have been updated with my YouShop address). Any ideas?

Good info cheers.

Tried a few times to get a hold of top end electronics, then noticed the shipping was $35 through the checkout which did not make any sense, therefore figured there was not much to save and maybe a long wait to go with it.

End up going with Expert InfoTech, easy, there are 4 units with 16GB in stock, I have one of these on overnight courier as I type this, 3 remaining in stock. They said they supply an adaptor for free with them too.

I am getting this for work. Even though I my own personal iPad, I am not sure what I can do with the iPad for work if I ended up with two. Thinking the Google product will be better in the long rung with the way of updates. Also think of those misc apps which Apple may not allow on their store. Android might be more useful. Will soon see...
