JamesL: Lastpass is better given it fills forms in automatically for you, and is more secure than using your browsers password manager

KeePass fills in forms too, in fact it's quite configurable in how it offers hot keys for doing this.

I did look into Lastpass but I would have had to use the pay version if I wanted access to my passwords on my Android phone, and I'm a cheapskate!

Another little problem I've run into while I'm going through updating all of my passwords: most sites don't tell you the maximum length they will accept. So I merrily generated a 20 character password and used the site's "Change password" feature to change my password, only to discover that the site automatically truncated the new password to 15 characters without telling me! So I ended up with a new password that wasn't what I thought it was and if I hadn't been logging out and back in to check that the new password had stuck I wouldn't have known until I next went to log in. Nasty!

I use Keepass on my Android cellphone (Keepassdroid), iPad (minikeepass), and Windows XP all using the same database.

Works for me :)

I've been using 1Password for years. Mainly because it was the best option at the time when I was first using my Mac. Then they developed the iOS version, and recently the Windows version. Not sure if there's an Android version yet.

I've always liked it for its browser integration and cross-device compatibility for all the machines I own. Plus it's got iCloud and Dropbox syncing.

Also, the paid option for mobile devices is worth it. At $12 p/a it is cheaper than a GZ sub. :P

I haven't tried many, but I've been using KeePass on my PC for about 3 years. I use it mainly because the database is compatible with miniKeePass on my iPod.

If am not mistaken lastpass allows you to import browser passwords .

i dont know much about keepass but based on comments here , it appears you need another service to store passwords. but with lastpass you just need lastpass.

I must say though , though i love lastpass, its integration in android not as great as windows (desktop). they do provide their own keyboard and a app but its hit & miss. dolphin also has extension. as long as you dont mind opening a browser and get your password i dont think you need premium version.

Keepass for me also using drop box for sync. Works great.
